Edwards was far superior to Galeno.
Galeno was sold for €50m
I just have to say this...
-------

General consensus on there is that he a terrific player who has had attitude issues recently, example:

"A player who if he wanted to would have been a great player at Sporting and would not leave this way.
A lot of talent, little head."

Clearly it's going to be down to Edwards to show what he's about like he did in his first few years at Sporting - an exciting signing if he's up for it, no doubt at all.

Bad news. Edwards singing is a global conspiracy to hide something about aeroplanes in the US. Mind blown.

Great signing-did I hear he was recovering from an injury, or do we think we will see him playing soon

Brilliant statement signing, and the best reveal video ever. What a morning so far.

The only chance we have of signing players of this calibre is if they are down on their luck a bit. That seems to be the case with Marcus, he needs a bit of love and a good dressing room environment, a manager who believes in him.

I consider his level to be that of Jaydon Sancho. The issue is that he hasn’t reached that level consistently. If we can get him firing, and the fans roar him on, that could springboard us up to the EPL and then up the EPL. He could be a £50m player if he really knuckled down. The great thing here is he is not the only player of that calibre - Trafford and Esteve being the two main examples of those heading to the top.

The other good thing is, he clearly doesn’t want to go back to Lisbon. The best way for that not to happen is by getting Burnley up.

Thrilled to bits with this signing. I have followed him for years and when he was at youth level I had him down for the future of Englands centre midfield. At his best his close control and vision are borderline world class. Obviously there is something amiss or he wouldn't be coming here so I am just hoping he reinvents himself and we see the player I hoped he would become. Welcome to Burnley Marcus UTC

Very happy with this signing. He is a very talented attacking player. Hopefully Parker doesn’t stifle his flair too much. I also am aware that it was Parker’s relationship with Edwards that got him here in the first place.

Only concern here is that he’s not played since 30th November so you’d imagine he won’t be starting games just yet.

Perhaps - although Anthony had barely kicked a ball in forever and was slotted straight in against Blackburn.

Could be a good sub option, ala Benson, for a few weeks to get him up to speed.

My concern is that he dribbles past half the opposition, passes to one of our forwards on the edge of their penalty area, who immediately picks out James Trafford 70 yards behind play.

Trust me , this guy at his best is better than Townsend, and I am a Townsend fan. I couldn't believe it when Spurs let him go in the first place, I just hope there isn't something wrong re his headspace and that's why he's here. Although apparently according to others he is here because of Parker so could be a match made in heaven

We're in the Championship. Townsend was a very solid Prem player in his day and played at some good clubs: had a wonder of a left foot, scored some cracking goals, was very quick and attacked defenders in his prime. Maybe you remember him from his Luton days!

And I'm not saying he's better than Townsend, but that some of his movements, mannerisms, pace and left foot REMINDED me of him. Talk about exaggerating things.

Although it's good to get a good player in due to parker having influence ,it's not always a good thing for team spirit if he's put in the team due to knowing parker and not on ability.
I think this is the case with Anthony who should have either not started as many games as he had or should have been subbed off numerous times in my opinion.
I sometimes think parker had his favourites and is blind to how ineffective some are in certain games .

I think he will be in the side on ability alright, so don't worry about that.

I think signing a player that the Manager wants is preferable to signing one that, for example, the Chaiman wants, or one recommended by computer generated stats.

With the exception of Trafford, Esteve and Egan Riley, no one in the current or recent first 11 can have any gripes if they got rested. I am looking forward to Shelvey and Edwards starting as they would appear to be a step up to what we have.

Anthony has been one of our better performers. I must be one of the blind ones you refer to…

There’s no way on this earth a head coach with the professional credentials of Scott Parker plays someone unless he is fit, and he fits the framework. I can’t believe you’d think otherwise?
