Where do the U21's sit in their league? is there any promotion etc or do we need to go back to CAT 1 in order to be playing with the big academies again?

These lads aren’t being challenged at the level they are at.

Cat 1 status can’t come soon enough.

They're not. I've seen so many games this season when we've been far too good for the opposition and when you see how many players we have missing now from games and still getting big results, yes, the sooner the better.

We must have some great midfielders on the bench tomorrow if Bauress ain’t in the squad. Some player that boy.

As posted in other threads - he's had two games/part games in the FA Cup and we have some strong midfielders in the first team. That's why a loan wold have been a good move for him.

Is the quality of the players so much better because of good recent recruitment or because of the investment in the development of these players year on year? Or a combination of both?

Tony will have a better idea of the answer on this, but it may also be the demotion from Cat 1 that is making us look better now. Although we were only Cat 1 for a year and I don't think played the best teams even then, so something has to be paying dividends. Maybe the long term effects of our facilities?

We beat Brighton this year (can't remember if we did that once or twice?) who are 5th in the PL2 so it does suggest we have a very strong Academy at the moment.

We had two years as a Cat 1

In previous seasons it seems like our form has dipped around this time of year as the best players go out on loan. We've got Westley, Mellon, Costelloe, Richardson, Walker, Tweedy and Dodgson out on loan but the form of the U21s hasn't dipped at all.

Yes, my apologies.

I was deliberating one or two when typing and couldn’t remember. It was the one year licence thing that stuck
In my mind so went for one.

It’s incredible when you put it like that.

Really hope we get Cat 1 status back. I’m really looking forward to seeing how the lads do next year.

looking at the profiles on the club site I'd say it's mainly down to recruitment.
Bauress is the only truly BFC developed player (from 8 years old).

It always seems like the youngsters from Gt Harwood/Blackburn area are a lot more successful than those from Burnley. Not sure why that would be really
