Not sure if fence gate do brekky unless you're staying but it's good.
If not I'd head to barrowford rather than Burnley if you're wanting something decent

+1 for Loom Loft - superb cafe there.
Forest is great too, and opens very early.

Is there still a cafe on Todmorden road opposite the Woodman? We used to call in from Halifax although a few years ago.

I've always had a decent breakfast at Vincents( Towneley garden centre). £10.95 for the big un. 2 egg, 2 bacon, 2 sausage, 2 hash brown, 2 tomatoes, beans and mushrooms. Comes with toast and tea or coffee. Black pudding extra.
Can always walk it off round the nature trail.

Sounds good, but no serious breakfast aficionado would hold any truck with tinned tomatoes. Completely overwhelms the whole plate.
Another shout here for towneley garden centre.

I love the sweetness they add. What I can’t stand is a beef tomato cut in half, grilled for 15 seconds so it’s a slightly warm uncooked tomato!!

I love a good full English, however 'good' is the essential word here. Good means well-cooked, not swimming in grease, and made with the best quality produce - like the freshest eggs, best butcher bacon, the finest sausages/blackpud, fully grilled tomatoes and decent brand beans.
One caveat: If I'm working away and the only place open in the early morning is a Spoons, then I'm not going to moan because they price it accordingly, and I don't expect anything other than cheap and cheerful for what they charge, though I usually go for their eggs Benedict.

I'm not keen on beans, so plum tomatoes it is. Great for mopping up with a slice of toast at the end

Exactly this. This type of thread pops up here and there from time to time. There's a huge different between a cafe breakfast for a fiver (which can be 'good' for the pricepoint), and a premium breakfast with great sausage, a well cooked egg to your preference (ie they ask) and decent toast, preferably sourdough. I'd expect to be paying north of a tenner for a quality breakfast, served by staff who take it seriously, and I realise others think that's expensive.

The Park cafe in Barrowford does good food. Full English is about £8. The place isn't very big and only has about 3 tables and a breakfast bar. It's right opposite 117 so you should get into one of them.
Tubbs at Colne is a good shout too

No, it’s Pizza d’Roma now, and a great pizza it is too.

Barley car park cabin. Good home made stuff, locallly sourced.
Tubbs in Colne do breakfasts until 12. Good breakfast menu too. From full English to pancakes. Nice.

Kellogg's aren't what they used to be since they mucked up the recipes.
You've got to pity the young generation who'll never know the delight of breakfast cereal shimmering with crystalline with sugar.

Slightly off topic (but not) got 3 chickens last year and do enjoy fresh eggs, cooked in soo many ways.
Was pondering if anyone else did anything similar but can't get a bit of pig for a few sausages

When I was a student, way back when, I knew a guy who put sugar on Frosties.

In Leeds they have a restaurant chain called Toby Carvery. Its predominantly a Sunday dinner style restaurant but they do a brilliant breakfast and you can even get a Yorkshire pudding with it. I think the nearest thing Burnley have is Sycamore Farm which by Burnley standards is a 9 out of 10 bu its not a patch on a Toby Carvery which is the real deal for breakfast dinner and tea

I was picking up some things in a Morrisons store a couple of weeks ago and as it was nearly lunch I thought I'd get a brew and a butty from the cafe, ended up having the full English ( and I wonder why my cholesterol is high ) anyway it was good and the price was fine and unlimited brews as well, I'd go again.

hash brown has no place in a full english so that's a positive recommendation

I echo the Advocate’s trumpeting of Sycamore Farm. It’s one of the few establishments where wearing a baseball cap is de rigeur while you slap brown sauce on your fried egg

If you want raw bacon, a snotty egg, sausages which taste like they are 6 months out of date and toast which seems to be cooked on a radiator then by all means I recommend Sycamore Farm.
