Trafford Egan Riley and Esteve end of season values?

The heart of our record breaking defense are all aged under 23 and have played in the vast majority of our league games this season All 3 will undoubtedly improve with time and experience So the question is what are they worth as individual players and are they worth more as the best defensive unit in football?
Trafford. 25m ?
Egan Riley 30m ?
Esteve 30m
Unit 100m ?

I’ll be amazed if Manchester City don’t activate their buy-back for Trafford.

Hard to put a value on Egan-Riley right now with him being out of contract in the summer

His age should prevent this even in the worst-case scenario

I think the club will be looking for more than £30 million for Esteve and if he carries on in his current form I can see us getting it. Hoping of course we can keep him.

Supposedly 3x the fee we paid. So would be around the £42 million mark.

The simple fact is if we don’t go up, none of those three will be with us come our first game of next season.

How would/ is the figure calculated to “buy back” or is it already in the contract when he signed for us.

No. The OP is clearly suggesting/asking what fee we are going to get. We'll get naff all for CJ - maybe 200000-30000 if we're lucky with compensation. He's out of contract.

Am I right in saying if/when Egan-Riley leaves on a free that there will be a tribunal to determine how much compensation we get?
If that’s the case, it will be better than nothing, but nowhere near his value if he were on a 4-year contract.
Esteve will probably go for £20-25 million, but I don’t think we’ll get £30.
Trafford - it’s becoming increasingly clear that this lad is going right to the top, and I reckon he’s England’s number one within the next 2-3 years IMO. However, keepers valuations are often a strange one so I genuinely have no idea what we would get for him other than to say we’ll get more than what we paid for him.
All 3 players remaining will require promotion, because I can’t see any of them hanging around if we don’t and Pace will want/need the money to cover the shortfall in Premier League income. For me, this is why I’m so frustrated with watching 0-0 bore draws, some of which we never looked like scoring in! FFS Parker, grow some balls and take the feckin handbrake off!!!

I think it's fair to say Worral will be the Egan Riley replacement if we don't go up, he was brought in to be first choice.
The left centre back one would be interesting, surely Ekdal deserves a chance but he and Worral are a bit samey. So it could be a partnership of Worrall/Humphries and we spend a chunk of the Esteve cash on a left back and striker.

Trafford will be worth £35m+ at least getting in to the realm where City’s buyback will start to look good value for them.

I wouldn't be surprised to see City come back in for both Trafford and Egan Riley.
They didn't want CJ to leave in the first place and can get him back on the cheap

I would imagine there will be a queue for both Trafford and Esteve. Chelsea are desperate for a keeper so that might help raise the price for Trafford

A club like Chelsea could do a lot worse than buy the unit. 3 X 1 = 4 or 5 in this scenario

Similar situation to when Danny Ings left for Liverpool. I believe we got in the region of £7m? Some ten years ago via tribunal.
We’ll get a few million quid at least, I think he’ll sign a new contract with us anyway.

I hope so buddy. Sign a new contract for the club's benefit and then receive a big fee for him. Trafford, Roberts, ER and Esteve then all leave during the summer.

What a player is worth and what someone will pay are very different.
Steve is probably worth 25ish (not proven in the prem really) but I’d imagine if we go up with a record breaking defence that narrative could push it to 35/40 especially if there are multiple interested parties. The fact he is left footed adds about 7-10m for me they are rare at the top level.
CJ is worth nothing, any compensation would be minimal and we would probably owe City a chunk of it too as they “developed him”. With a contract signed I’d imagine he is worth 20/25 to someone down the bottom half of the prem, it’s hard to determine his ceiling without seeing him in the prem really. Hopefully we might be able to get him tied down with a great big pay rise and a sensible release clause.
Trafford, I wouldn’t entertain less than 40-45m. His ceiling is very high, he’s English and has played at every age group and i imagine soon at senior level. He can play with his feet, still only 22 and by the end of the season will be heading towards 150 league appearances. City would be mad not to activate the buy back given the way they have chopped and changed keepers this season, although other factors will be at play and he would be a risk if elevated to that level too soon.
Lots of money coming in potentially however if we don’t go up and loose all 3 that will be a massive concern no matter how much we get.

Trafford won't get near 40-45 and it will come down to future sales.
A question for everybody else: If we don't go up will we have enough to challenge next season?

Are we not entitled to some kind of compensation? (unless he leaves to a European team) like we got £8m for Ings.
The Ings fee was a long time ago too, the market has undoubtably gone up since.

I’ve said that Trafford is going to be Englands next number one. Got pelters.
Said that Trafford has always known where he was going next.
Said that Trafford was a FFP signing rather than a loan signing.
Defended him last year when people were embarrassingly clueless about him.
Will take his best mate with him to replace Ake. Not sure.

One thing Alan Pace has proven is that he knows our players value. Everton and their very creative accountants should be banned from signing anyone. But either way Max is worth North of £40m and Traff similar. CJ is a problem unless we give him a new deal

I’d no idea about the CJ no contract thing which very likely means we’ll lose him for almost nothing . He’ll surely attract interest from better payers even after we’re promoted ? Steve is a great asset but again we have to accept financial reality .

Even if we get promoted, I can't see more than one of those still being with us, if any!... Maybe Esteve for a bit longer if we're very lucky!

You would have to look at how the contracts are structured and more importantly the payments. Esteve was only signed this season so I guess he will have a good lump of the initial outstanding and Trafford last season will be the same.
Both will likely to be sold anyway if we don't get promoted because they will likely have relatively expensive contracts and we run out of parachute money at the end of next season.
And as Barnacle Bill says above the issue is whether the squad will be as strong if we don't get promoted. Hopefully we get promoted and none of these things come into play.

He might know what their true value is but it all depends what we are offered. Because of the debts we have buying teams will know we have to sell if we don't get promoted. Beggars can't be choosers.

Still the basis of a pretty good Championship side. Ekdal/Worrall and Humphreys centre back options. Clear out more of the deadwood and make a few sensible signings i`m confident we be challenging again.

Not convinced by that, I don’t see us paying the £13m option to keep Humphreys if we don’t go up.
We’d be losing, Trafford, Roberts, Brownhill, CJ, Esteve, Shelvey, Edwards, Anthony, Humphreys, Barnes.
Not sure on the situation with Flemming but if we can’t get automatically promoted with this current group it’s wishful thinking to assume we would with a considerably weaker lot.

You’d have to be incredibly short sighted not take the option on Humphries, he’s going to be one of our most valuable assets in a few years time. Even if we just signed him and immediately sold him it would be the better option than letting him head back to Chelsea.

Flemming is an obligation for £7m:

No idea what would happen next season, but we’d have Aaron Ramsey available, Jordan Beyer available, and probably see Bauress/Banel + others in and around it, which I find exciting.
