Mind-boggling stat taken from today's Times.
In his last 34 games as a manager in England, Scott Parker's teams have conceded 18 goals.
Nine in the first ( Bournemouth's 9-0 defeat at Anfield ) and nine in the subsequent 33 with Burnley.

Looking at the Cherries line up they didn’t have anyone as good CJ, Esteve or Trafford in the team.
On the other hand, Anthony was in line up.

Has that hammering stayed with him and he's vowed never again ? Certainly feels like it at times.

Didn't he spend a lot of time with Thomas Tuchel during his time away. I think that's probably stayed with him as much as anything.
I remember his Chelsea team beating us 4 0 at Turf Moor and being mind numbingly efficient in how they went about it. They spent half the game passing the ball 3 yards across their back 3.

This is very true, but whilst we’re doing big stars: Mo Salah scored in his first game against Burnley (1-1, Arfield) but hasn’t scored a single goal in the subsequent 11 or 12 appearances against us!!

It's a fascinating situation. I read stuff on general football sites about our 'achievements' and fans of other teams are really not impressed and generally are very sympathetic to us having to watch it each week.
I do believe that the Preston stalemate had a different feel to it than the previous bore-fests. I'm hopeful that we are starting to see an improvement in our forward play. If we start to score goals whilst keeping clean sheets, then it will be something to be very proud of, until then, it's a little awkward!

You claim that, for the fans, Burnley’s defensive achievements are nothing to feel proud about. What about the players? Do you feel that they do not share a sense of pride upon setting such an outstanding defensive record? It has often been spoken during commentary that such a feat would simply not be possible were it not for the whole team working as a collective to protect the goal when it comes under threat.

Keir Starmer is asking prison staff to replay our games in the shared social areas to stop people reoffending so at least theres a positive coming out of all this non stop defending.

I wish he didn't have to meet the press/media dimwits with their inane questions. He should be left alone to plot our success. Great manager, very impressive bloke.
