I wonder if technically he could sit in the seats behind the bench ? I'm guessing there must a be some sort of rule requiring a distance away from the bench ? Anyone know ?

answer:
Touchline ban: For a standard touchline ban, the manager cannot be on the touchline before, during or after the match, and this includes participating in the team’s warm-up. Rules vary from country to country but in England (in both the men’s and women’s games) a manager suspended from the touchline has to sit in the directors’ box during the match. If there is no seat available or there is no official directors’ box, they must take up a spot in the stand which is not near the technical area or near opposition supporters.

When Stan was banned the first time he sat on the front row of the Bob Lord right behind where he’d have been stood. The next time he was sat further back and we saw Ronnie Jepson running up the directors box steps to ask him what to do when we had to make an early substitution.

Parker was in the directors box but I’ve never worked out where Kompany was last season on the two occasions he was banned from the touchline.

Farke was up on the tv gantry at Sheffield United on Monday and at Deepdale Heckingbottom was up on that old gantry in the Pavilion Stand.

It's all something of a joke/nonsense really isn't it? Surely they just have loads of instructions written out for the other coaches prior to the match and are then in constant communication with the bench throughout the 90+ minutes and effectively running things albeit from slightly further away.

Exactly. Parker was sat there with his ear pods in. I’d assumed that was so he could communicate with Jonathan Hill on the bench but maybe it was just to block out Paul Jenkins who was sat next to him. :D

This is sad to hear. A bit of harmless fun along with the grabbers. Once won a keyring.

It is a joke - all he has to say is carry on with what you've been doing.
