A nice historical article, always good to be reminded of our early 60s success.

Good article, other than the fact it claims we haven't gone further than the quarter-finals since 1962. Did I hallucinate the 1974 semi-final against Newcastle?

It references the 1974 semi but I think Lord if he were here would have his lawyers all over that.

Its not often we get presented an opportunity for a run like this. It will be incredibly frustrating if we chuck it away tomorrow, almost Watford esque.

Leaving aside the PL, clubs that are challenging for promotion from the remaining divisions tend not to get to the latter stages of the FA Cup. Of the 5 remaining Championship clubs still left in 4 are placed mid table or below. I would assume that Preston will be fielding their strongest possible starting 11 tomorrow whereas we will undoubtedly rest quite a number of key players.
It is all a question of where the club feels the priority lies as to how they approach tomorrow’s tie.

Quite early on the piece,” they reached the semi finals in 1974”

Hi Martin. It certainly said that when I read it at lunchtime. Can only assume the piece has been edited. The power of Up The Clarets …

He will rotate but it's as much about mindset. Whatever team we put out will be better than theirs so it's about treating it like a proper game which comes from the manager and how he's approached it in the week.
I've been surprised about the lack of noise about it tbh, I think it's a huge game, possibly our biggest of the seaspn so far.
