According to Nixon this morning, AC Milan are checking out Esteve.

Can't blame them, don't think he's better than what they already have though. He's gone in the summer either way

I actually think he will stay if we go up

Just for one season

Not surprising, but I think he’d fancy a Premier League move.

Depends where he sees his career going. He’s probably looking at low to mid table premier league career or he can go to Milan and get European football and occasionally challenge for the title.

He’s an absolute winner. That’s great when we lose 3 times a season and not so good when it’s over 50% of games a season. Hopefully we get up to see if he fancies it but he enjoys keeping clean sheets.

Yeah, you can imagine Nixon having contacts at the San Siro.

Always worth looking how often a club has spent over €20-25m in recent times. The answer is not very often in Milan’s case and certainly not on Championship footballers.

I’d file this one alongside the rumour that they wanted Benson a few years back.

I agree he is a good defender but look how poor he was yesterday
Personally any club with any nous would not take Esteve unless they also take Egan-Riley too or have someone already like him for Esteve to link up with
Esteve had a shocker yesterday and it may be no coincidence that CJ was rested

Just seen Taggart come on for Newcastle. Now he would have been a great loan in Jan as a left back. Hes hardly featured all season for Newcastle

Just watching the Newcastle v Brighton match. They said Livramento is an English international. Twice he has been feeble. Not sure he is an elite player, at this point, in any way, shape or form. Time required to see any development.

This is the problem with so many fans, you can't judge ANY of our players yesterday. It was a make shift team, with some players still working for match fitness, and a team selected to concede control of midfield. We were on a loser from the first whistle. Van Dijk would have struggled to impress.

Try judging players on a much wider view point than a single game. Like a season where they've only conceded 9 goals, and been outstanding every game. Knee jerk opinions are childish.

Nixon was linking one of our ‘babes’ to a move yesterday.

Koleosho?
Trafford?
Egan-Riley?
Esteve?

Could make a case for any.

Or someone from youth team?

Can’t remember his name, but it’s the player who we signed and then sent immediately out to Dundee.

Burnley attacker Oluwaseun Adewumi is attracting interest ahead of the summer, according to journalist Alan Nixon on his Patreon page.
Burnley loaned the forward to Dundee last summer to get some experience. He has since caught the eye up in Scotland and is attracting attention from some new teams.

I think we all know we lose Steve , and we can’t turn down the money .
Traff will be a lesser miss and not sure how much we’ll make after Citeh % and we paid big .
CJ would be a miss and embarrassing we’ve offered him 3 separate contracts saying “ we didn’t know he’d be any good “hmm. Pants down springs to mind .

What Williams said was that nobody could’ve predicted his development this year. He’d had two unremarkable loans and barely kicked a ball for us. Nobody could’ve predicted he’d become a mainstay in the team and many on here were saying he wasn’t good enough after his Rovers cameo and Sunderland. Credit goes to CJ (and Parker) for that.

He’s taken his chance and because he’s done that, we’ve offered him three contracts. But understandably, it’s going to be harder to secure him whilst playing so well and being OOC in summer.

At the start of the season I thought we wouldn’t miss Trafford. How wrong can you be! He’s miles ahead of the other keepers. Would love to keep him CJER and Steve if we go up.

Absolutely no substance in this what so ever so please treat it with massive scepticism should it eventually ( hopefully) be bollards but I was told yesterday by some random old boy who noticed I had my Burnley top on at a grass roots league game in Eaton Socon that Esteve was as near as damned it a done deal to Everton for £35m at the end of the season. Apparently along with an un named central defender from WBA to replace Branthwaite.

Again don't shoot the messenger I'm hoping it's complete tosh!!.

They’re very keen. Alan Irvine has been to watch several games and I think Moyes joined him recently. No idea how close it is but they’re definitely interested. Charlie Adam is part of Moyes’ team there too so will presumably have got the inside track on him from his contacts.

My mistake then. I was actually remembering Sunderland as after Rovers but that wasn’t the case. And also remembered Rovers as his first appearance actually - when he came on a slipped vs Rovers and got pelters - which also isn’t true. Maybe it was Wolves I’m thinking of where he also got some stick.

In any event, early doors there were a lot on here that were forthcoming with criticism and writing him off (not me, I might add) and nobody could’ve predicted his fantastic rise this season at that point. He’s done superbly, been a credit to himself, but I don’t think we can blame the club over the contract situation either.

Whether we go up or not the vultures will be circling around Trafford, CJER and Esteve this summer
Ipswich spent over £120m net this season and are still going down
We won't spend anything like that next year if we go up, and will be one of the favourites for relegation next season - it's just the way of life now for promoted clubs
These guys will want a chance with a more established Premier League club (if offers come around), rather than the risk of staying at Burnley and most likely facing a relegation battle
And who could blame them
It's the price of success - at our level

Out of interest, what makes you say that? I’d say after the success of more than making our money back on numerous players bought that year, with assets still to sell, ALK will be very much hoping to repeat the trick. It feels like their business model and, if anything, one they’d be looking to expand on.

I’d be absolutely fine, and probably prefer, very limited spending.
