Radio Lancs

Listening whilst driving
They talk about every other Lancs team like it’s one of their gang but talk about us like we’re outsiders.
I know this has been said countless times before but it’s really quite spiteful

We’re not going to go up apparently but said like that’s their hope

Parker will apparently leave if we go up cos we’re so negative as fans and that from Fat Dunny one of that miserable bitter lot

We’re certainly the most likely Lancashire team to achieve something this year

Don't get wound up pal. Set of clowns at Radio blackburn. So much for BBC impartiality, but that doesn't seem to be a value at all for the beeb anymore.

I just don't listen.

I may do when we clinch auto just to hear them crying.

File radio lancs alongside that toilet roll of a rag the lancs telegraph.

Both of them are a pile of shi-te just like the football team they try and big up.

Is it still Gary Hickson?
To be fair, Scott Read is decent, for the clarets and cricket....

It's still Radio Blackburn.

It's never changed.

Was it not Scott Reid the Burnley fan presenting it? I only heard a little bit whilst driving but Dunn was being a bit of a pillock.

Used to listen on way to north Lancs after PL games in the Dyche era. Morecambe, Accrington and Fleetwood were covered before the Clarets got a brief 5 minutes.

Should be called the Blackburn Telegraph.

Scott Read is just a downright nice bloke who is very good at his job. He’s a huge Claret and used to travel home and away watching us every week before he started working in the media. And despite his allegiance to the Clarets he’s VERY impartial on Radio Lancs - which is more than can be said about Andy Bayes.

Our fans always called it radio Blackburn, but didn't we stop them and 2br from live coverage of us unless they paid a lot more money?

If they can't cover us, I'm not surprised they don't mention us that much.

People hear what they want to hear. Dunne was saying 1 defeat in 25 and record clean sheets, what are fans moaning about? Which is exactly what is said by the vast majority of fans on this board.

I listen to Lancs all the time. Glenn Little on comms is great.

Yes, I like Scott Read, Gary Hunt and Ian Chisnall, even though he’s a dyed in the wool Tangerine.

Andy Bayes is a pillock, though.

Tbf lots of happy memories of listening in the car before and after games, was a bit of a ritual. Back in the days before everyone could instantly get team news/results on their phone.

Scott Read, Gary Hunt and Ian Chisnall. Glenn Little is good - he gets Burnley and talks like a fan.

Scott has commentated on Test Match Special - not many regional BBC commentators can say that.

I didn’t mind Richard Dinnis back in the day - always seemed fair.

“Goal Action……..” and The Allan Beswick late night show……….

Alongside tuning into the local police radio frequency to listen to the impending punch up outside The Kings in Padiham at chucking out time…….

Ah, them were the days……

Lancashire and Burnley really are miles behind other areas in terms of local radio and media. Maybe its because the big players such as Manchester and Liverpool broke away but West Yorks local radio and TV is so far ahead of the likes of radio Lancs its like going back into the dark ages when I visit family in Burnley

What makes the big players such as Manchester, Liverpool and West Yorkshire’s local radio and media better?

The Manchester Evening News is dreadful and there’s no live coverage of United on BBC Manchester Radio. Radio Manchester has good coverage of Rugby League.

I'm not sure but locals of Merseyside, Greater Manchester and West Yorkshire seem appreciative of their local radio and media where as all I see on here is it being slagged off and rubbished.

I have fond memories of growing up in Burnley with Radio Lancs, the Burnley Express and the Evening Telegraph but going off what I read on here it seems like Lancashire has fallen well below its neighbouring regions

I wouldn’t go off what you read on here, I think you know that, wink emoji

The days of the Pink Final and decent local press are long gone. It’s not confined to Lancashire. Modern day journalism is picking up “news” off Facebook. All about click bait.

I second this. I went to school with Scott and travelled to away games with him on coaches and with his dad. He was a very good friend of mine and he absolutely loves the clarets. He lived a few doors down from me and I as you say, one of the most genuine likeable people you could meet

RL used to proper pi** me off in the late 90’s, with their Knob End love in . This was the the time that it began going downhill for me. Hickson was as bad, everything was PNE, and they used to call em “ Moysie and the boys “. It really was vomit inducing stuff. One evening when a PNE “boy” had broken his leg on the previous Saturday, it was like when Princess Diana had died, and they even played somber music over the show. Embarrassing.
But the final straw for me was that Kevin Gallagher episode earlier this season. I won’t even switch it on anymore.

Gallagher was being his usual self - going on and on about all things Blackburn, whilst at the same time, being negative about Burnley. All this whilst being the anchor of the show , not just another invited along two Bob pundit. Disgraceful, even for R L.

We were on our way to a game at Deepdale, when the M65 was still half finished, and we went in the Knowles Arms in Blackburn.

Gallagher was stood on a table waving fistfuls of £20 notes at the Burnley fans. Not for long, mind.

Hes a class act.

I think I commented on here about that earlier in the season. I recall Gallagher was put 'in charge' for the day and was found to be totally inadequate regarding preparation, delivery, timing and basically anything else you might expect of someone trained for such a role. Sounds as though David Dunn has just 'rocked up', too hands in pockets, unprepared in any way saying the first thing that comes into his head. Bit like a poor man's Brett Ormerod who said 'you know' at least as many times as Ally McCoist says 'it really is'.

I get that the main game was at Derby for Bastards’ cup final (LOL) but it was fairly ridiculous how our game was basically skimmed over.
