He was middling to poor. Actually favoured us today. Gave a lot that were not fouls. Tolerated quite a bit of dissent from them.

He was dreadful. Thankfully in our favour for a change.

He’s an absolutely bizarre referee. One of those you hate having as a player as he’s proper over-officious. That said he got most things right. I don’t think their lads first booking was right, looked like he clearly played the ball but the second was a proper self-destruct; he was getting nowhere near the ball.

Sure one of our first 2 goals came from him being in the way of a Luton trying to break away and Brownhill intercepting him

A - 15. A lot good, got some wrong, but didn’t fall for play acting and that is a positive.
B - 15. Favoured us a little but I don’t sense major favouritism, e.g. Benny’s facial reorganising went unpunished and the ball was NOT over the line for the 3rd. Felt probably a pen for them, but we should have had a free kick on the 18 yard box.
C - 20. Looked to be positioned correctly.
D - 15. Nipped a few things in the bud early. Let a few other things go like the goalie whacking the ball away.

Just seen the Luton manager's interview, what a whinger.
For me the first booking was reckless and waist high. You'll not see any clearer double yellows all season.
Our second goal, the ref is slightly in the way, but you can't stop play for everyyime that happens.
The ball wasn't out of play for our third

I've not seen the penalty claim but it seemed like he made a meal of it in real time.
Serves them right for trying to play rugby for most of the game, bunch of thugs tbh.
We were due a ref in our favour for once, it's been a while

Set his stall out early to stop blatant fouls and their thuggery. How their manager can say that the first yellow was not a yellow is beyond me. He tried to decapitate Laurent and his 2nd was a genuine attempt to hurt Brownhill.

Bloomfield said the ball was a yard out for the third goal….time to visit Specsavers. Luton got what they were deserved the early tackle on Edwards was clearly planned. They tried to rough us up from the start sand argued with every decision so they made their own (bad) luck. As others have said not the best ref, but certainly not the worst

I thought the ball was out at the time but it is clearly not when one views the replays on you tube. Had that been between the posts and below the cross bar no goal would have been triggered on the refs watch IMO. Again I think Laurent gets the ball with his knee rather than their player getting the ball first so an obvious yellow for me.
He was whistle happy and I think favoured us but there were only 3 yellows for each team plus the two yellows for Naismith.

Not sure that is the right angle to show whether in or out!

If you thought he was a homer then those marks will only distort John’s RTR table.
I’m not sure he got much wrong to be honest. The two yellows look correct to me, he can’t stop play because he’s in the way, he didn’t make contact with ball or player and he can only go off the lino on our third goal and Edwards is blocking his view. If it did go out it was a fraction of an inch and not Bloomfield’s yard.

Hi Ian, yeah, since then, the extended highlights video was released, and this is a better angle

Even that isn't conclusive, as not looking aling the line. However, just as my view about 'offside' is - if the bodies are/look level - onside, so benefit of any doubt with attacker as lino will not be looking aling the line.
