Blackpool Clarets

Post by Bfc » Mon Mar 17, 2025 12:31 pm

My mate told me he’d been rushed back into Blackpool Victoria Hospital at midnight on Friday. After some sleep, he went into bathroom and had wash and changed into his Burnley T shirt. On his return to the 4 bed ward, one of the patients asked him, if he is a Claret, his thought was, he’s going to a Bstd fan. But before he could reply the other person said, so am I and a season ticket holder. Another 1 of the other 2 said, that’s 3 of us, I’m a Claret as well.
3 out of 4 Burnley fans/patients in a Blackpool hospital ward together.

I would say best not visit Blackpool if you are a Claret as you could end up in hospital .......

It's probably the stress of being a claret. Best to look for another hobby!

I live so close to Ewood I can see it from my back garden. I didn't realise this when buying the house in July until the bloody leaves fell off the trees behind us a few month later. Wiped thousands off the value!

Anyway, amazingly, we have neighbours either side who are clarets too. We're like a squadron behind enemy lines!

Tribesman, my mate wasn’t visiting the town, he is a resident of the Blackpool area.

That's brilliant. Are you and your neighbours from blackburn?
Personally I refuse to go to blackburn where possible. I had physio near the town centre over a month and it annoyed me having to pay to park there

I was born and raised in Burnley, but my mum was from Blackburn so I got sent to a Blackburn school, which led to me meeting my Blackburn-based wife... now here I am!

I was chatting to a few fellow Clarets who live in Blackpool on the train home after the Luton game. They mentioned that there used to be a proper Fylde Coast Supporters Club. Shame that it does not exist anymore, as there seems to be plenty of us round here.

Childish, but I'm exactly the same.
