FIFA is a joke.

There is literally NOTHING that FIFA endorses that is rooted in common sense or pragmatism.

Everything about the organisation is bent.

It should be dismantled, and exposed for the utterly corrupt organisation it is. There won’t be many employees of it that shouldn’t be in jail.

Oh ok.I thought he’d gone into the stands to sign autographs after scoring, and got booked for time wasting. I only read the first couple of paragraphs for the link, and I’ve had a drink or two. Now I think about it, I’ve had a bit of a shocker there.

Agreed totally underrated by some of our fans yet consistently scores 15 goals per season in the Premier league. Eddie Howe activating Chris's release clause was a major factor in our subsequent relegation especially as we got Lump Wout as a non scoring replacement

He was a bit of a donkey, but he was the best donkey we’ve ever had. His goal to games ratio for us when you look back at it now is ridiculous considering he was playing for a team who played up to 80% of the game without possession of the ball.

Read an article today he’s just 13 goals off the same amount of premier league goals as Didier Drogba. Considering Drogba is rated as one of the very best he’s not done bad for himself old Chris.

It does when it's near 100 PL goals, which is an incredible achievement, no matter the number of apps.

Wood has made 10 more premier league appearances but considering who he’s played for I’d say it’s a fantastic effort

Excellent player - too many on here had him down as a bad un. Now, instead of eating humble pie they're using the excuse that he wasn't a fit for us. Crikey, we built our attack around him for years!

With respect - utter tosh. Wood had already downed tools and was pretty much ineffective for months whilst turning out and earning a good wage.

Wood had been, and is now, a really good forward for us and others. Play to his strengths and you’ve got a really good and effective forward. But his final months for us were an embarrassment. An embarrassment for him, as it demonstrated his **** attitude, and an embarrassment for us as we had no clue how to deal with it. Him leaving didn’t relegate us. Eddie Howe didn’t weaken us in their favour. Chris wood’s can’t be arsed attitude was a factor in us dropping, amongst other things, and playing the rest of the season for us like he’d started it would have seen us relegated anyway.

Remember a good footballer if you like. Remember a decent forward player who scored some superb and important goals for us, but PLEASE don’t tell me he would’ve kept us up because he absolutely wouldn’t in the mood he was in.

Chris always scored more goals for us in the second half of the season and there is no guarantee that he would not have done the same when he left.
He score 49 league goals for us and 28 of those came in the second half of the season.

HIs transfer to Newcastle added a lot to their defence of set pieces and this helped them tighten up considerably and start to win matches. At the same time it weakened our defence of set pieces. Bottom line is that Newcastle stayed up and we didn't.

It is pure conjecture that Chris Wood would not have helped us stay up and it is all water under the bridge. He did a great job for us and scored goals in a team big on heart but limited in ability as compared to a lot of PL teams.

Disagree with this completely - to score a goal in the premier league is scoring a goal in the premier league. Of course nobody in their right mind would say Chris wood was better than Drogba, but you can’t underplay what he’s achieved - fair play to him

He was a multi-tasker, not just a goal scorer

Newcastle fans hardly ever had a good word for him because they did not understand his contribution during his first half season to help their defensive frailties.
In his second season, when he played, he never got the service because they didn't put crosses into the box.

At least he stayed loyal and was sent out on loan ---unlike the current incumbent of the number 9 shirt at Newcastle.
His record at Forest speaks for itself with 61 PL starts plus 14 coming on as a sub and scored 37 goals and 4 assists.

Ah, the old 'downed tools' argument.

No recognition that by the time he left he was probably running on fumes after two seasons without a break due to the Tokyo Olympics, and no recognition of the fact that by the time he left we'd pretty much abandoned playing football or creating chances in favour of just pumping the ball up to him (never the best part of his game) or having Westwood dump a never-ending string of crap balls into the channels for him to chase.

Knackered and playing in a awful team seemingly set up to not get anything out of him. No striker was going to shine in that situation.
