Can anyone tell me when we get test results back.

Mine took about a week but I have to say I was very unimpressed and it caused me worry. The results came back as highly elevated for my age and that I should urgently consult my GP. When to GP and results came back as normal…..however, mine was the kit you send for…

I had my test yesterday, I asked the lady who told me that I'd get an email in about a fortnight.
I'm curious about this method of delivering the results. I appreciate that it's not an NHS service, but I wonder - out of every 100 "seek medical advice" notices, how many people would fail to do so?

My understanding is that the test is notorious (rightly or wrongly) for being biased towards false positive. The advisory notice says not to do any exercise or get jiggy (by yourself or others) for 48 hours as this would increase likelihood of a positive result. So clearly, the antigen levels are dependent upon activity factors as well as any cancerous conditions.

Anyway, well done to everybody that got the test done (myself included).

Two weeks wow. I thought that last time I was tested I got an email the day after, the day after being Sunday. I know the old memory is not what it was however I'm pretty certain of that.

Normally can take a couple of weeks if everything ok ,my pal’s results needed action and they got back to him within a few days ,the results sometimes seem a little difficult to evaluate ,but I think last time there was a green band to say everything was fine.

I’ve gone for the last 5 years and the results have been in an email.

It is not a very good test for prostate cancer and many men have been "mutilated" in the States due to an abnormal test and inconclusive biopsies.
Having said that it remains as far as I can tell the only simple screening test for the disease.
Digital examination and PSA are better but digital examination cant always feel the full prostate
Some less common cancers dont put up PSA
So I have mine done yearly mindful of the problems that can cause a false raised PSA.
I would advise not to get too uptight about an abnormal result from BK's programme but follow up ASAP with your GP to take things forward.
Mens problems like mine are caused by that part of the prostate that does not normally become malignant but can put up the PSA as occurred in me. My sensible urologist felt my prostate was large but benign and arranged MR which was OK.
My PSA fell to normal once I started treatment to hopefully shrink my gland and I can now sleep through most nights.
It doesnt mean that I wont get the dreaded C so annual PSA remian for me but have to insist my GP does it, but I do have some leeway to ensure it gets done
Most certainly men who have a FH of prostate cancer or are black should be regularly screened with PSA
Despite its limitations I dont know any urologist (apart from females) who dont have PSA checks post 50.
UTC and well done BK for his efforts AND IT IS TIME THAT MAN HAD A GONG in my opinion

I'm more surprised this is done via email. Many emails can end up in spam/junk as you'll know. Surely a text message would be more sensible.

I'm not aware of any reports of outcome notifications going to junk folders.

When I went last year my result was sent to my inbox in just two days. The whole process worked well from start to finish.

I pay for 6 monthly full bloods test via Medichecks , the bloods are taken via a medical professional not a finger prick The PSA is checked luckily my results are good. I think the BK PSA checks have saved countless lifes very worthy cause .

Yesterdays tests were not a finger prick. They took your blood fully just as a doctor would.

I assume he is referring to the option of the home testing kits.

It was 6 yrs ago when we quequed for over an hour at the Turf when there was no appointments and my mates test was positive ,he’s still here and fit as a fiddle ( well for his age anyway) .If you missed out on having a test go on Barry Kilby’s site and they’ll probable be several more events that are relatively close by.

On the subject of receiving results, I had an appointment with a cancer clinic last summer and the results from that appointment were sent via email. I was told it would be up to eight weeks after the appointment but it came the following day.

I'm sure at last year's BK event, people were finding our very quickly.

Well done to all those who attended yesterday. I hope you all get positive results.

Just checked last year's results and they came through at just after 5pm on the Monday after attending Saturday dinner.

Mine landed this morning from Sat’s event, PSA Total: 0.99 ng/ml, so I’m good.

I had a doctor's test 18 months ago. It was high, had to go for a scan and then a biopsy. Was convinced I had it. Tests came back negative. I now have to have a blood test every 6 months. My levels are around 3.5 . This is lower than when I had the biopsy but still seem high compared to other results I have read on here. It gets me down every six months and I am always anxious.

Just landed. 1% down on my last one, it recommends having the next one in 3 years but I think I'll keep going yearly as we have had it in the family

Just wondering if everyone has had there results back yet as I still haven't had anything through. Do they do them in time order in that those who went early morning get the results back first and those who went later on in the day get the results later on. My appointment was 2pm but had nothing back yet.

I did get mine back, think it must’ve gone out in the same batch as CTID’s as it was around the same time.

There were 550 tests I think I read somewhere so will take some time to process. Online it said wait 5 business days which would’ve been Friday, so maybe give them a call if you still haven’t heard.

Just a heads up that there's a testing session at Burnley Cricket Club on Sat 14th June but there were only a few places left when I looked yesterday.
