Trafford interview BBC Lancs

10min interview with Trafford

Interesting part towards the end where he says he will “definitely be playing in the premier league next season”

Hopefully, that statement comes from his absolute belief that we will be going up.

He will be a proper leader by about 27 or 28 when he's a bit more comfortable in his own skin. Tries a bit hard to give off a relaxed, confident impression at the moment and it's a bit obvious. Makes him come across as a bit arrogant occasionally. Most of us have been there at that age.

he's at that point where he will sink or swim. Everyone thought Butland was going to be great, then Henderson, then Ramsdale. Wherever he goes next he needs to play.

I suspect he'll go even if we go up, because his peak value in the next 3 years is probably this Summer. So we'll sell, in case he bombs with us in the Prem.

If we’ve done a deal a season prior when we don’t know how he’d perform or what league we’d be in, we really are stupid.

A very well considered interview, from the young man.

James Trafford earns £25,000 a week, Jordan Pickford earns £125,000 a week, Trafford will not be at Burnley for much longer!

Lovely lad by all accounts, and full of confidence, he does give me Daniel Dubois vibes in interviews though.

Yes I thought that too. I was under the impression they (Newcastle) were told to come back and speak with us at the end of the season. Pace is no man’s fool, he keeps Newcastle interest alive and hopefully we have other suitors by then. If he is Newcastle bound I’d have taken Dubravka from them although from memory wasn’t he Turkey bound but Eddie talked him into staying a little longer so not sure on his situation. Either way JT won’t be with us next season regardless of the division we’re in.
