He has a lot of experience in that area, no idea if he is any good though.

Saw a fairly recent interview with Nicky Butt. He said he was looking for the right coaching opportunity. Prepared to wait as long as he needed to. He wouldn't take an opening just for the sake of it. He impressed me and I think he will be a great addition to the club.
Welcome Nicky.

That will be the Casper link of course at Salford

He said back then that he was standing down because he wanted to get back into coaching

Casper upfront, Butt in the middle and Sinclair at centre back. Start of a good team that.

You'd think with his previous connection that the club would have been quick to announce it.

Having witnessed his behaviour in driving through the crowds of fans leaving the ground earlier this season and then getting out and attempting to start fights with those that had taken issue with it, I'm not convinced he's the ideal character to be developing youngsters.
There's enough braindead people involved in positions of responsibility in football as it is.

Yes, but what were your favourite memories of playing for Chelsea, Frank?

I was at a Colwyn Bay game when Sinclair was part of their management team. His behaviour towards players, officials, supporters & the opposition bench was appalling. Wouldn't want him anywhere near the club.

He’s been involved with the U15s apparently.
Seems a strange choice if the feedback on here is anything to go by!

I can’t really understand the article. Suggests the role Butt is playing is not permanent, which is a shame.
He was heavily involved at United’s academy for a number of years, I seem to remember, so you’d think this would be a very good appointment.

I was talking to Frank in Portugal over Christmas. Has a real affection for Burnley and said he couldn’t wait to start his new role in the academy.

Going off the halftime interview held with him earlier in the season being mostly about his time at Chelsea & Leicester, I’m not entirely convinced the club knows he use to play for us

And play he did - him and John McGreal were fantastic signings that summer and then we just brought that kid in on loan from Villa to help them.

Couldn't be less surprised. It's still absolutely rife in the English football culture. You just have to watch the many fly on the wall football documentaries to see the level of intelligence some of these so called managers possess.
And then we wonder why English managers never win anything and we have to appoint a German as the national team manager.
It's no coincidence that the deeper thinking English managers Howe, Southgate, Potter and could even include Parker in that are the ones that are getting the most success.

If he’s looking for the right coaching position maybe he’s in on a trial basis to make sure it’s a good fit for both parties?

Possibly, or maybe helping out until the right vacancy becomes available. I think it would be good to have a big name pro like Butt around the Academy in terms of player attraction.

The U10s who are part of the tournament were at with one of my boys. Some technically good players, but, lots of kids who must come from Liverpool (the accent gives it away!). That’s some weekly travelling for a junior player!
