Val Kilmer, the actor who starred in Top Gun and played Batman and Jim Morrison, has died aged 65.

A very talented actor who had a long and varied career. I first became aware of him in the film ‘ Top Secret ‘ with Peter Cushing.

Very sad news to read. Val Kilmer is one of my favourite actors ever, largely due to how obsessed I was with Willow as a kid (I still love that film and watch it probably every year). He's in another of my favourite films, Heat, and was excellent in Tombstone. I must get round to watching The Doors though and imagine his passing will prompt that. Rest in peace, Val!

Very sad to hear this. One of my favourite actors too. His performance as Jim Morrison in The Doors was truly magnificent. I first came across him in the film Top Secret which remains one of my go to funny films. RIP.
