Their commentary team.were saying they were "hard done by" without any sense of irony.

It didn't seem to matter that their goal was clearly offside and the score should/could have been a comfortable 0-2 with no tension at the end.

Fans always been unbearable. Always get very vocal when they’re in and around the play offs. Where were they when their club needed them?

Come to think of it, they remind me of another set of fans…

I’m mean they are right- the referee/officials were rubbish but how they thought that had a bearing on the result other than giving them an offside goal is beyond me!

Yes. Assuming for “approaching the ref” like Parker got the other week

Didn't see the game but why were Lampard and players surrounding the ref at the end. Sounds like he was a bit of a homer.

Deranged set of fans without any knowledge regarding the laws of the game. The ref was overly lenient to them IMHO but to hear the whingers in sky blue they were hard done by. Clueless bunch.

Non-entity of a club. Leicester aren't fussed about 'em, Forest aren't either. Play their games in a plastic bowl on a car park. Only good thing about them is they have an elephant on their badge which is kinda cool.

They’ve won one of their last 12 games against us and only 12 of all 52 competitive games between us. They must hate playing us.

I bet the ref couldn’t work out why he was being booed all game having gifted them an early lead. Other than the offside goal and the sitter they missed in the first half they created zip. Second half, their only hope was long throws. Crap team, crap club.

Just had a look quick on their board. Im lost. The ref wasn’t great but I’m pretty sure he. Wasn’t that bad!?

Watch on the TV and I believe he got most things right. Linesmen did him no favours mind.

The ref wasn't good, but he wasn't any worse for them than he was for us. Their fans and players were whinging about decisions which were blatantly called correctly. They were even whinging when they were awarded free kicks - it was quite bizarre.

Imagine regularly being schooled by a much more successful club from a town that's tiny in comparison to a city like Coventry.

They really are a weird, angry bunch who have an over inflated opinion of themselves as though they are somehow relevant in the footballing world. They aren't.

Bless em.

Rileybobs is spot on. The ref wasn't good and his needless pulling the game back to talk to the captains. The missing of the offside for the goal was inexcusable but that was the lino. Overall we won the game because we were the better side, soaked up poor pressure, lumping the ball forward. Game Management but Cov fans see that as Dark Arts. They need to look at themselves before having a go at a team that are miles ahead of them.

Walked back to The Longford Engine through a sea of Coventry fans and all they did was whinge, say were boring, cheats etc.

Weird how they forget their goal was offside and you don’t have to play like Brazil to be top of the league (I actually think we play quite decent football).

Don’t forget it was their fans who started causing disruption & chanted during the minutes silence for the Clarets we had lost in 2022, when we played them in the 2022-23 season. Proper weird lot.

Had a look on their forum and it's amazing how they viewed the game.

The officiating was poor all round, we certainly didn't "cheat". I thought they attempted to bully us and the officials but we stood up to it well. The type of game that becomes about the battle and they lost it.

To be fair when walking off the game, many of their “whining” fans might not have been aware that their goal scorer was at least half a yard offside?
I felt the officials were poor for both teams today. There was an annoying inconsistency close to the end of the game where Hannibal got a booking for protesting his innocence to the linesperson and he was correct, he didn’t touch him. A few minutes later on the opposite flank the other linesperson got a gobful from the Coventry player because a decision went against him. No booking.
Lampard rightfully got a sending off at the end for over protesting to the ref. He was certainly watching a different game than most of us. They certainly weren’t hard done by. Perhaps the way Frank Lampard’s Coventry have been hyped up by the media in recent weeks has gone to Franks head and the fans heads? Sore losers.

I've found one of the best ways to shut them up on other social media platforms is to ask them why a team from a large city like Coventry have never been English champions.

Horrible toxic fan base are Coventry. They started to really hate us when we were apparently interested in Gyokeres (some player him) Hamer and O'Hare. Despite us being far superior to them they were up in arms about our interest and thought it was unbelievable audacious / even rude that we would attempt to sign players from them.

They seem to have a very high opinion of themselves, but are unable to back up why they think they are Big Time.

Massive city. 1 club.

They do have a huge opinion of themselves and always have done for some reason, because let's face it they haven't exactly got much history and nobody outside of Coventry actually gives a toss about them. The literal only thing they have over us is that they have a bigger ground and probably bigger fansbase (which so they should being a 1 city club) but not all of us go round thinking we're a huge club.

I remember that flack over the O'Hare interest. D1ckheads!

I take the view that the fanbases of locally based clubs are broadly the same. Mostly decent folk and a minority of loons. Coventry seem to test that rule. From their forum and hearing comments after the match most of them seem to have no idea about football, perhaps not surprising given that they play in a former rugby stadium. They tried to kick lumps out of us from the first minute and didn’t like it when we proved to be quite robust. The officials gifted them a goal and two minutes later they were singing ‘you’re not fit to referee’. I can’t fathom why they got so angry. They are all whining about ‘the dark arts’ aka game management when performed by your own team. They should be directing their ire at their own team who failed to conjure a meaningful effort on target in the second half in what was a massive game for them.

The old blanket statement about a full set of fans after a tense game. Nearly all supporters are the same and a reflection of society. Some are knobs, some are not. Given our success at this level over the past decade, the level of whinging from burnley fans, has been monumental.

Got confronted by a group of four as I went to my car-they thought it was a dirty game and that as usual we had been very physical. I asked them, why with Frank Lampard as their manager , they did not keep it more on the floor. I could not believe that a club pushing for play offs could be so direct-they hit endless high balls out from defence, which CJ and Esteve handled well. I think they got carried away recently with their run, but now I believe its 3 losses in a row and I can now see Frank crumbling after good recent publicity about their rise up the table

I agree but them getting so wound up so quickly and then making a noise about nothing for most of the game struck we as a bit of an outlier.

The whole Maatsen thing was plain weird as well. He wasn’t their player, his loan had finished and it was entirely up to Chelsea who they loaned him to next.
Why that meant they were so angry at us and him was hard to fathom!

What a bullet we dodged with O'Hare btw. Two 6 month + injuries between us registering our interest and the end of last season. Good player but seems to have lost a bit of his mojo and the Utd lads think he's talented but blows hot and cold.

Shame for the lad but great for us. Think the first one came a matter of days after our interest cooled when they were asking something daft for him.

Seemed a mite perturbed at FT.

Or is he still not allowed to comment?
