Admittedly, I’ve not watched them lots, this season. Every time I have, I’m amazed that they are so far clear at the top. They are a long way from being a great team, from what I have seen.

I'd agree not 'great' but they are still are really really top side - up until today they've only lost 2 all season which in the PL and how incredibly hard it is is impressive imho. Jones isn't a right back and we are seeing the end of Andy Robertson at Liverpool too imho, complete mess today and I for one am enjoying seeing them get battered !

It's scorelines at Craven Cottage that give poor old Wrover fans a bit of hope they might win a match, one day. :ugeek:

Saints relegation confirmed. Believe it’s one of the earliest, if not the earliest, in PL history.

Yep it's the earliest. Game week 32 previous record

3 teams relegated previously with 6 to play, Derby 2008, Huddersfield 2019 and Sheffield Utd 2021. Southampton have managed it with 7 to play.

They are quoting that they’ve beaten Derby and Ipswich.

With Liverpools defeat today it leaves us, as the only team of the 92 undefeated in the league this year

I'm sure it's been mentioned, but the PL is essentially done and dusted at both ends. There's still some wrangling for Euro spots to be fought for, but nothing compelling to the neutral.

Compare that to the championship, where it's a proper dogfight for all three barriers of measure. You'd think the PL would want more drama, but alas, the gulf appear to be widening.

Ipswich relegated with 6 to play but in a 42 game season, it skews that stat somewhat maybe. Not sure why they aren't quoting Huddersfield and Sheffield U, who both had six to play when relegated.

The Premier League is a waste of everyone's time these days. It's no longer a competition with an edge, but a parade of wealth.

Can't believe this is, on paper, a Manchester derby.

Derby games often don’t live up to expectation, however the Manchester derby is usually the exception

This has been crap though

Just as an aside, was that really a penalty which gave Spurs there third goal? I only saw it briefly on highlights, but it looked a rubbish decision to me.
