Walsall - from certain winners to hanging on

I was just looking at the League Two table and saw Walsall were third with 72 points from 41 games, just a point behind Bradford City and Port Vale.
In mid January they had 58 points from 25 games and were twelve points clear at the top of the league.
That is some change of form.

I think you must mean behind Bradford and Port Vale.

Port Vale were early season leaders then hit the skids only to now be back on track. I don't think Walsall have the time to let the bad run continue, they need to get back on it now or will miss out. It would still be good if Bradford could cock it up even if they do have GA in charge!

As someone who backed Doncaster to win the league and promotion in separate bets I hope the 3 above continue to mess up.

A mid season collapse of Blackburn Roversesque proportions

Bradford's resurgence will be a great filip for our Bradford residents.... they need something to cheer them up after the cricket result.

They had Nathan Lowe on loan from Stoke who scored 15 in 22 games. Stoke then recalled him in January and Walsall started to struggle.

I got one wrong and you got one wrong - it's Bradford City and Port Vale. Should be careful next time you are trying to trip someone up.

Eh? Who do you think I meant? Bradford Park Avenue?
I won't bother next time. I'll leave it for someone else to point out your error.

He scored in his first game back at Stoke but hasn't featured much since

Walsall are the perfect example of why nobody should be taking automatic for granted.

…fell out of the automatics in the 96th minute, due to a Bradford City winner.
Don’t forget, after 22 games, Walsall were TWELVE points clear in first.

My wife is a Walsall fan. That’ll teach her for taking the pee out of me when Leeds scored in the 91st minute.
