Looked season ending. Really felt for the lad. He's had so much bad luck. He really looked up for it when he came on. Maybe too much and it contributed to his fall?
Massive striker issue for Millwall game looming.

Gutted for him and us. Has been really useful in this recent run. And yeah, the final game looks a worry - I’d consider trying to get Redmond some minutes and play him and Brownhill.

He seems really reluctant to use Redmond. Seems strange because he's shown how much he values experience elsewhere.
Makes me think he's pretty much done at this level and we are only going to use him as a last resort.
He was a no brainer to come on yesterday for Edwards otherwise. A bit more of a reliable figure.

Yeah, can only think it was a case of a game and pitch not suited to someone returning from a long lay off.

The lad doesn’t seem to be able to catch a break.

I wonder if this injury opens up a spot for Tresor or Ramsey to come into the match day squad.

As the season finishes three weeks on Saturday I can't see how he can make a full recovery in that time.

I don't think he's a massive miss, he's a striker that doesn't score goals. Yes he can run the channels, but most of the time it leads to very little.
That said, i hope his injury isn't too serious though, can be a long lay off with shoulders as they're always susceptible to going again

You may think differently in the final game of the season at home to Millwall.

Was it his collarbone ? Hopefully he’s popped it out and in and he’ll be ok in a couple of weeks. Fingers crossed

Dislocation at best but didn’t look good. Is Flemming on loan from Millwall ? I thought he was our player

I googled it last night and apparently 6-12 weeks for a dislocation

I dislocated my shoulder a few years back
Although it was replaced straight away, it was a week before I could remove the support and then a couple of months rehab.
As mentioned once it’s gone once, it is susceptible to go again, even with the most innocuous movements.
I once sneezed as I was bending down to pick up a bag and felt it popped out/in

Really feel for the lad. But he's always going to be prone to injury because he's not physically up to this level. He gets bullied. Last night he looked like he was running through treacle which enabled the Derby play to catch up and barge him, resulting in the injury.

I thought Barnes looked a bit of a shadow of his former self in his brief time on the pitch last night and the fact he may end up leading the line on the final day of the season is obviously not ideal. First and foremost, it's terrible news for Foster who has been persistently unlucky with these sort of injuries. Lets hope it's not as bad as it looks likely to be.
I was a bit surprised that Redmond didn't get a run out last night when Foster came off, because he's a natural alternative to what Foster wants to do and he has some experience of playing at centre forward. if we ever need to go 2 up front with someone more mobile, he'd be the obvious alternative to foster. It doesn't say a lot for Parker's confidence in his fitness that he was entirely passed over.

Cant see how some think he wont be missed. He is a key man for Parker, even though he was alternating with Fleming for a starting position. Sorry but for me Barnes is not a serious option-great at keeping the dressing room upbeat but 2-3 years past it. It means v Millwall, when we may simply need three points to clinch auto, we could be really handicapped. Parker must start planning his tactics and selection for that game, but I remember how we fared at the Den with Hountondji and Jay as our attacking options. I know Redmond has played as a number 9, so if Foster is out, time to be bringing him into the team for some game time

If you watch the Cullen interview yesterday, the subs are doing their usual cool down exercises behind him.
All the players except Ashley are sprinting up and down. Ash is just walking slowly behind them. He isn't fit enough to even be playing.

Yes I do sadly. Millwall have beaten us , Sheff Utd and Leeds this season, with a very strong rear guard. Barnes will get no change from Cooper , one of the most dominating centre backs in the Championship. I hope of course I am wrong.

Did a little comparison on fbRef of Lyle last season to this (link below) which are amazingly similar, suggesting this is him season after season (the one difference is number of touches in the box, which were actually more in the EPL and probably linked to team style of play).
We can also compare him to others and the website suggests Karlyn Grant is the nearest in the Championship, which I agree with, and he has similar total outputs, a bit less goals but more assists.
Thinking about it we don’t have anyone else of that ilk in the squad and if he is out for the season I for one think it is a massive blow, one the team will have to overcome (my view would be by hurling ourselves at teams and try to get an early lead then rely on the defence, rather than getting onto what we did yesterday and needing late goals),

If we don't go up from the position we are now in it won't be because of an injury to a striker who does very little while on the field other than miss big chances and get injured frequently

So you're basing your assessment of Barnes that he's not even fit enough to be playing, on the fact that in the warm down he's walking behind the others?

Yes he did and then I think he used to play with some sort of shoulder strapping to protect it.

Debateable re Barnes' potential effectiveness... at his age the very occasional 2 minute cameo is simply not enough... Parker's had plenty of opportunities to give him the chance to sharpen up..last night he looked exactly what he was.. starved of competetive game time.
I simply fail to see what Foster's done from match 2 onwards, that a match fit Barnes couldn't do better... from taking his chances, holding the ball up, distribution, winning free kicks.
Tough on Foster...clearly a nice enough lad and he may well start in the prem where teams are looking to really get after us...but as a championship striker against a crowded final third? Meh.

IF it comes to it, if you tell Barnes this is his last professional game and he can get the club he loves promoted (again!) then he’s going to burst a gut for the cause. He won’t let us down.
That said, I think it will be sorted before the last game anyway.

We need to get Josh Brownhill scoring again as he seems to know about timing his runs and finding the net. Hannibal had a bit of a chance last night but he did not appear too confident in lifting his shot towards the right hand corner rather the straight across the ground attempt into the defender.

Massive striker issue for Millwall game looming.
2 wins and 2 draws as long as 1 of the wins is against sheff utd and it's likely the Millwall game won't matter, given our better goal difference, cos I don't see sheff utd winning the other 4, all ifs, but that's it in a nutshell imo, yes I'm hoping.
