Omen for Good Friday

Post by ClaretLoup » Tue Apr 15, 2025 9:57 am

At the end of last year the Clarets played Derby, Norwich, Watford and Sheffield United. The results of the first two games were 0 - 0 & 2 - 1.

We are in the middle of a sequence where those 4 fixtures are now reversed and so far the scores have been 0 - 0 & 2 - 1.

What are the chances of Friday's score being 2 - 1 to Burnley?
Well, Betfair are offering 8 - 1 ( there are other Bookies and don't bet more than you can afford to lose 😉)

Didn't we beat Boro 2-1 on Good Friday to get promoted last time as well.

21 April 2014 - Goals from Ashley Barnes and Michael Kightly secured a 2-0 win over play-off chasing Wigan Athletic at Turf Moor to clinch promotion back to the Premier League. Sean Dyche’s side had started the 2013/14 season as one of the relegation favourites. It was Burnley’s first automatic promotion for 41 years.

Odds on Bashley scoring on Monday? :D

28 April 1992 - A 2-1 win at York City ended Burnley’s seven-year exile in the basement division. Goals from John Deary and John Francis sealed a dramatic comeback win at Bootham Crescent. Jimmy Mullen’s side won the Fourth Division title with Mike Conroy topping the scoring charts with 24 league goals.

Leeds lose against Bristol City the following Monday to win us the title?

Decided to wear my old leather jacket today. (Bought 1986, that's old). Putting my tickets in inside pocket I found another ticket in there. 3rd November 2024, Millwall v Burnley. OK, that was the last game Burnley lost. Removed the Millwall ticket and put it in the bin. Good Friday, good omen - don't take old tickets to a new game.
