I think we all appreciate what James Trafford has done this season, but I find it very surprising that Esteve isn't in the shortlist for player of the season. He's been a cut above the rest all season.

2016 and Burnley under Sean Dyche win the Championship title by 4 points following a 23 23 undefeated run of games. They are joint top scorers in the league, have the second best goals against record and the best goal difference.
Brighton finish third under Chris Hughton and lose the play off semi final and are condemned to another season in the Championship.
Which of the above do you think was awarded Manager of the Season?

Is that the colour of the envy of their fans when they look 12 miles up the M65? Or is it due to minimising the amount of chemical fertiliser they use on their pitch by liberally applying **** to it every other Saturday?

I don’t think it should necessarily be the league winner being the best manager but clearly in the 2016 example Dyche was the better manager than Hughton that season.
This season you have a manager taking over a team that had just been easily relegated and a summer window of unprecedented personnel changes, breaking (probably) multiple league records. So, in terms of this season, whether we win the league or not, if we can end the season with an unbeaten run of 33 games, 2 losses and more than 30 clean sheets there can clearly only be one manager of the season.
Wilder has lost more games this week and has been nominated.

I agree it shouldn’t always be the league winners but they always seemed to find a way of avoiding Dyche. He certainly should have won it in 13/14 when we were one of the favourites to go down and we finished second by a distance.

Mind you, not half as crazy as Tony Pulis winning manager of the year whilst at Crystal Palace in the 13/14 season.....

Could say perhaps the two best players in the league not nominated (Estève and Tanaka) is a bit weird but can't grumble with the Trafford and James nominations. Both had brilliant seasons.

I dont think there is any manager or team in the Championship who has overachieved this season so giving it to the manager who wins the league seems about right. I'd argue what Eustace did at Blackburn and then at Derby is about as good as what any other manager has done this season but I wouldn't argue for him winning any awards.

By massively reducing the number of fans attending games, they have really cut down on the CO2 emissions ordinarily generated by fans who drive to games.

We had the fiasco of the Championship trophy being taken to Middlesbrough instead of Charlton and we had Tom Heaton parading a blowup trophy around.Lets hope they have the trophy around to award to give us after the game v Millwall

I don't think Eustace has done enough personally but I'm shocked Ismail has been overlooked.

Parker has been absolutely excellent. I suspect Dan James will win the player and CJ the young player.
That said, I personally think that manager of the season should be Liam Manning. He had an absolute disaster in his personal life and has still managed to get Bristol City playing excellent football and within touching distance of the Premier League.

Agree that Manning should have been in the frame as Bristol City, to me, are the clear 'over-achievers' of 24/25 (to date)

The awards evening is next Sunday (before the end of the season) and the panel will already have met and made their decision, potentially when Sheff U were top.

This season, they certainly should. He worked 6 weeks on a detailed pre-season and then they sold the team! He has built this tram, without a pre-srason and whilst playing a demanding Championship season.
