More than a level above. If Tarks/Keane went on to be premier league players this man is a champions league player every day of the week.

Get him signed onto a 10 year contract. When I saw Gary Cahill play for us 20 years ago I didn’t think we’d see as good a defender play for us again but by god we have one now.

It's a joke he's been playing in the Championship.
I was half hoping Cannon would get the ball more often just so we could see Estève beat him in a one-on-one again.
I wasn't hoping that Brereton-Diaz would get the ball, because in that situation it just feels cruel to watch the big hopeless dope even attempt to play the same sport as Estève.

Know what you mean regarding Cahill. Think it might have been against Stoke, way back, I left the Turf, telling my mate he'd play for England.
But think I can't honestly say I've never seen anyone better than Esteve, at his age, in his position, in a Burnley shirt.
He's a very rare player.

Brilliant defensively but weak in opponents penalty area from corners etc. PL clubs need big strong CB's to score goals, he needs to bulk up. Just my opinion.

When agents compile a you tube video of "their player" it is usually over several matches/seasons but rarely is it just one match - in this case "Steve" manages to do it in today just one match! An exceptional Centre Back who we really need to be with us in the Prem! A real talent who graces the claret and blue! Thanks "Steve" !!!UTC

I think a couple had there best games today.
Hannibal and Esteve in my opinion showed premier league quality today

He was absolutely faultless today. Some outstanding pieces of defending, including three in the first half that immediately spring to mind. His best game of the season.

Exceptional today. If he has any suitors over the summer we need to stand firm. He's on a long contract and young enough to get even better.

I think I have said this before on here before but here goes again....
Chill did it with avery experienced defender next to him to guide him. Esteve has been learning on the job with another young CB or two as his partner which makes it even more impressive!!

If there’s one thing I’m pretty confident of with Pace, it’s that the only way Esteve will be leaving, is for a really huge fee.
It might be the case that we lose him and Trafford, but I really really want to see how the trio of Trafford, Esteve and CJ play together regularly (for us!) in the Prem. Genuinely they have been beyond remarkable.

He’s a colossus in this league. Rapid, strong as an ox and positionally outstanding. His distribution has improved somewhat as the season has gone on, too.
He has all the attributes needed to make it at the very top level.

I’m sure he could’ve pushed for a move in the summer like Dara did but in an interview he did after the window closed, Steve came across like he felt he owed the fans following relegation. Real classy interview at the time.
Now look at Dara

Has it all. Just wonderful to see a forward in front of him effortlessly caught and cleanly. Beyer on his way back too we are told and he's also a good player but STEVE is just class.

We’ve been blessed with some truly great centre backs over the last 10-15 years, but Esteve has so much potential.
I think what stands him out against some of his former peers is his pace. Even when a forward has a yard or two on him, his ability to recover is really impressive.
Looking forward to seeing him in the Prem. Praying he stays with us!

He's by far the best 1v1 centre back I've seen play for Burnley. A man mountain, and it's refreshing to see someone take such pride in actually doing the job of defending. His attitude is first class, too. When a lot of our players were leaving early in the season, every interview reaffirmed his commitment to the cause. He's been nothing but focused on achieving what he and the rest have managed today. Legend.
Partnered with CJ who is more of a ball player, they really are formidable especially for their age.

Would do what Palace have done with Guehi and stick a big price on him-£50m in his case and give him a 5 year contract

An immense centre half. We have been absolutely spoilt over the last decade or so with the quality of defenders we’ve had.

Couldn't agree more, " barnsey " ...
If any top club scouts are reading this, he's slow on the turn, made to look good by his Central Defensive partner, has appalling personal habits, starts the day with half a bottle of Pernod & a packet of Gauloises and spends so much time with other player's wives that he's actually excused trousers when at training ...
Nothing to see here, but Arsenal have a great Defender in their Under 21's, if you'd care to have a look ...

What a player, he was pure class again today, watching on tv you could see his reading of the game his powers of recovery it was a privilege to watch him in full flaw just hope now we will see him in our version of claret & blue next season because the frightening thing is he only going to get better WHAT A DAY UTC
