Presumably that will land the club with a hefty fine?

How do you stop it and which club in the land doesn’t have a pitch invasion upon promotion?

What makes it soft?

It’s a question not a criticism

It wasn't much of a pitch invasion.

Just phone wielding snapchat-ers.

I don’t mind it. Let people enjoy themselves for a moment. Our club only gets a small amount running on anyway because of the ground design; basically only the bottom tiers of the Longside and Jimmy Mac do it. The top tiers don’t have access and the Bob Lord is too high up and the old blokes don’t bother. :D

What is a little annoying is when the fans have been asked to leave 25 times (the guy on the mic was annoying) there were still odd fans running on ages after the rest. That’s when fans are like ‘come on, it’s time to get off now’

If you’re going to do it do it properly and all go on, not a few dozen kids.

Fair enough the Bob Lord faithfuls hips would not survive the 6 foot drop down to pitch side

I’ll be honest I don’t think was that many …pretty embarrassing numbers wise ,
There was more on at the pitch at bury on Saturday than today and I went,
If it’s celebrate in the right way I don’t see a problem
Every club does weather they get promoted or stay up on last day
Some people are right the worlds gone soft.

Fans of other clubs have stated that before of us, but if you exclude the Bob Lord because of the drop and the age range, only around 6,000 or so of the 19,500 home fans have access to the pitch. If you look at Middlesbrough as an example, 31,000 home fans have access. Leicester is similar, and Leeds is something like 27,000.

Forget the emotion, emotion doesn't matter and the feelings that happen in the there and now. Celebrate in the correct manner that modern football wants. Oh I've just put myself to sleep

Having removed the fencing apart from digging a croc infested moat between supporters and the pitch plus machine gun posts- what are clubs supposed to do

Couple of points.

1. I hate pitch invasions, but the only time this is acceptable is when you have won promotion /a title or avoided relegation
2. The guy on the mic needs a serious talking to. Loves the sound of his own voice, and did his best to try and ruin a special moment with his constant carping.

Yes the bloke on the tannoy is annoying. But his “constant carping” wouldn’t have been needed if the law breakers didn’t “ruin a special moment” for the 19,000 other people who were able to do the right thing, has requested all weekend by the club.

How did it ruin a special moment? It's to be expected. Promotion or staying up celebrations.

Whether the fans went on or not, the players would have gone back to the changing room to celebrate with each other anyway before coming back out.

I didnt bother going on but fans, including some of those moaning, have been running on the pitch for decades.

I can understand the enthusiasm and emotion of the moment, but can't excuse the ignorance of ignoring the pleas to leave the pitch so that the players could come back out.
Over enthusiastic fans become entitled pricks.

I doubt there will be any repercussions, although Wilder is whinging we didn't do enough to protect his players, when the reality is it was the fans who needed protecting from the Sheff U players. A set of really sore losers no matter the circumstances.

Let's be honest, some of these were knobheads intent on getting in the faces of the opposition players.

Of course they did, we live in the 21st century... It's no longer about doing/experiencing stuff, you've got to film it... Nothings 'real' unless and until it appears on your socials. 🤣

The only time I’d ever “ advocate “ a pitch invasion being “ ok” is literally a home game when you’ve won a promotion , it’s pure emotion . Let’s face it was only a few hundred kids and good natured enough .

Much ado about nothing. A nail-biting game with a lot of stake, and a massive sense of relief when the final whistle was blow - marking our return to the EPL.

The players and staff all came out afterwards.

The trick is to walk up to the cricket field end of the Bob Lord where the drop is much lower.

Then, before you take the plunge, carefully lower your walking stick / Zimmer frame to support your graceful fall onto the pitch.

This top tip is sponsored by Stanner Chair Lifts.

Could be tricky at the end of that game.....

Surely the club should provide some reasonable adjustments of the aging Bob lord faithful. A hoist similar to those used at swimming pools would do the job

Absolutely weak and clueless stewarding
Parts of the ground where pillocks could get on the pitch totally undermanned .The safety officer has to take full responsibility for this preventable fiasco .

I understand the emotion of the moment. I’m just glad no one got pinned underneath the collapsing advertising hoardings in front of the cricket field stand. Any injuries and we would have been making much more serious comments.

At events there are only a handful of people who are actually allowed to grab people. 99% of those in high vis are simply there to make up the numbers for escorting crowds

True. I remember joining the multitude on the pitch, after the Orient game. Didn't want to leave.
