Only 3 points above the bottom three. Plymouth and Bristol City still to come.
They couldn’t, could they?

That would put a cherry on it.

I think they are just about safe now. Hull play Derby next so one or both of those are dropping points and pne have a better goal average than a few teams down there.

Does anyone remember 15-20 years ago when their fans would invade Clarets Mad talking about how superior they were.
PNE_Thor being a name from back then. Such massive arrogance.
I hope they plummet.

They’re probably ok due to Hull playing Derby but they’ve won one in ten, Ridsdale’s getting it in the neck as usual, and they’ve started questioning the manager.
You’ve got to remember clubs like PNE would kill for days like we had yesterday and they’re way off.

Short memories some Preston fans have.
It isn't that long ago that beating us in the FA Cup gave them their greatest footballing memory and a quarter final to enjoy. Now back to whinging due to not being very good.

Probably ok cos of their GD, but it'd be a right laugh if they dropped.

Thor was alright. A proper oddball but always good fun. Mover was their biggest wind up merchant but he was a decent laugh, too.
We had our own nutcases on the old boards back then - Peter Mumby mostly had me in hysterics.
Good times.

It’s true that they’d need a pretty horrific set of results to go down, but they had a pretty horrific set of results yesterday.
Lose on Sat and they could be in for a nervy final day.

Only Cardiff have a worse recent record
PNE play Plymouth next at Deepfake then away to Brizzle
Agree they are unlikely to go down even if they lose both remaining games but could be a cliffhanger if Plymouth beat them this weekend

Plus we know that teams that finish the season in terrible form often struggle the season after. Fingers crossed.

I think it comes down to two things - if Luton win on Saturday, and (obviously) if Plymouth beat Preston. If those two happen, I think they will get relegated on the final day as they will lose at Bristol City.

Bloody hell, Venkys4eva what a spoiler. I was just beginning to enjoy this thread as well.

You know, that could be a goer.
BC are four points clear of seventh place. They're away at Leeds next Monday, who knows what'll happen there.
If they lose, they'll probably be desperate for the three points against PNE, depending on how other results have gone for the other playoff challengers.
Here's hoping.

Always smile when I think back to the "we are superior" chants we used to get from them. With the exception of the real minnows in Lancashire, the Morecambe/Rochdale/Bury/Fleetwood sides, every Lancashire side has had at least one season in the Premier League. Except Preston North End

I’ve lived in Preston for the last 48 years so really don’t want them to get relegated.
Having said that,it’s nice that they’re having to bother about relegation during their last two games.

You could argue they are minnows in Lancashire given their level of celebrations in the cup game and general mindset over the years. We live in their heads…in their heads

Good we're nutcase-free now.
