The only reason I posted it was I was sent it by a USA claret and I thought it maybe of interest and people with more knowledge than me on the financial side could pick the bones of itCheshireclaret wrote: ↑Wed Apr 23, 2025 8:45 pmThat article doesn't explicitly say The Cynosure Group will be investing in Burnley, although the assumption is that our club will be the target for some of this £900m they are looking to invest across a number of 'projects'.
Thanks for posting, sounds really promising. I certainly feel we need a significant investor to take that next step now.Yorkshirelad wrote: ↑Thu Apr 24, 2025 7:41 amThe only reason I posted it was I was sent it by a USA claret and I thought it maybe of interest and people with more knowledge than me on the financial side could pick the bones of it
No idea about Monday. There are a number of what I would assume are quite small scale investors from Hong Kong and Singapore from memory. There are also some of the younger members of the Kwok family (Asia’s 5th richest family) invested. The Chief of Staff is also from Singapore. Could be any of those guys or delegates of.claretlegend wrote: ↑Thu Apr 24, 2025 7:28 amDo we know who the Chinese gentleman was in the directors box on Monday? I'm sure there were rumours of Chinese investment a year or two ago.
Thanks NewClaret, probably one of the existing investors then.NewClaret wrote: ↑Thu Apr 24, 2025 8:44 amNo idea about Monday. Not aware of any Chinese investors.
Chester - if you’re reading, do you know who the two guys on the pitch were with Alan Pace and Stuart Hunt after the match? I’m losing track of faces and names.
No problem.claretlegend wrote: ↑Thu Apr 24, 2025 8:52 amThanks NewClaret, probably one of the existing investors then.
I believe that was the gentleman who was at Norwich game when Dyche was manager and was looking to invest maybe he's come back with us going up, who knows...claretlegend wrote: ↑Thu Apr 24, 2025 7:28 amDo we know who the Chinese gentleman was in the directors box on Monday? Is that because you have recognised him or something you’ve been told?Clive 1960 wrote: ↑Thu Apr 24, 2025 8:59 amI believe that was the gentleman who was at Norwich game when Dyche was manager and was looking to invest maybe he's come back with us going up, who knows...
It might be someone else who knows but i heard someone was looking at investing in us but it didn't happen it could be the same gentleman or someone else, but we need investment to go forward as we need work on the cricket field stand or maybe the Bob lord ..
I asked the question after the game too, and was told it was the Chief of Staff.claretlegend wrote: ↑Thu Apr 24, 2025 7:28 amDo we know who the Chinese gentleman was in the directors box on Monday? I'm sure there were rumours of Chinese investment a year or two ago.
Sean Bai - Chief of staffclaretlegend wrote: ↑Thu Apr 24, 2025 7:28 amDo we know who the Chinese gentleman was in the directors box on Monday? I'm sure there were rumours of Chinese investment a year or two ago.
That's an old interview from when he first got involved I think. They've just added another couple of bits to it.Corway wrote: ↑Thu Apr 24, 2025 9:53 amJJ Watt has 14.3 m followers on Instagram and 5.5 m on X definitely raising our profile with promotion posts getting getting lots of responses.
He gave an interview in the NY Times on March 25 on how he’s been inspired by Wrexham owners and his plans for the club - need to subscribe to see it.
His worth is £70m
Feels like things are taking off over there.
We've had the dude perfect and Detroit sponserships. I suspect with the ban on gambling sponsors incoming we might see Detroit move to full shirt sponsor next season if the money is rightsteve1264b wrote: ↑Thu Apr 24, 2025 10:11 amTo be honest I've been surprised at the lack of interest from USA given our ownership, i had expected shirt sponsorship for example to reflect that.
For those of us who forgot - including me briefly on Monday - the following thread was created when Sean Bai arrived at the club
Chester - not sure if you saw as it’s quite a way up now, but I asked if you had any idea who the guys were on the pitch with Alan and Stuart after the game on Monday.Chester Perry wrote: ↑Thu Apr 24, 2025 10:53 amFor those of us who forgot - including me briefly on Monday - the following thread was created when Sean Bai arrived at the club

Adrian Bettridge was there as was another face who has been involved for a long time (we saw him in MtB in the online board meeting and he has been to a number of games) but who we have never identified - he was sat next to Alan Pace during the game in the Directors box
If you’ve got a decent still of him it’s worth running through Google Lens, if only to satisfy the curiosity!Chester Perry wrote: ↑Thu Apr 24, 2025 2:37 pmAdrian Bettridge was there as was another face who has been involved for a long time (we saw him in MtB in the online board meeting and he has been to a number of games) but who we have never identified - he was sat next to Alan Pace during the game in the Directors box

He has been around a long time with the ownership group - probably from the get-go (same with Mr unknown above) - we have discussed him before on the takeover thread. He appears to have engaged with a lot of UK based potential investors
Fair enough. Can’t remember discussing him but there’s so many new faces in the Directors box I lose track. Maybe represents a consortium then.Chester Perry wrote: ↑Thu Apr 24, 2025 5:46 pmHe has been around a long time with the ownership group - probably from the get-go (same with Mr unknown above) - we have discussed him before on the takeover thread. again that link was discussed on the takeover threadHedontplayforyou wrote: ↑Thu Apr 24, 2025 6:07 pmSomething to keep an eye on this then ?
Just out of curiosity after reading this thread I googled the Kwok family worth - wouldn’t mind being a few quid behind them !
As much as I’d like to pretend I know how to navigate to that post, it’s completely thrashing my brain, sending me all over the place .
these are the posts which mention the Kuok family nameHedontplayforyou wrote: ↑Thu Apr 24, 2025 6:28 pmAs much as I’d like to pretend I know how to navigate to that post, it’s completely thrashing my brain, sending me all over the place .
