Sky drop QPR v Burnley from main coverage this Saturday

It's still on but clearly a late change.
When the games were announced three weeks ago, it was reported that QPR v Burnley would be on Sky Sports Football. That was very definitely the case earlier this week when I set it to record. Now, seemingly it's been replaced with a Scottish match on Sky Sports Football, Luton v Coventry is on Main Event and the linear game on Sky Sports + is Leyton Orient v Wycombe.
Our game is now available only on the red button.

It was taken off as the main game on Tuesday, but shown as being on channel 412, so moved again, which is strange seeing that the title is still to be played for.

Only spotted it because my Sky box was set to record Leyton Orient v Wycombe when I'd set it for QPR v Burnley.

No?

Thx for the heads up. I also had it to record on the football channel and probably would have forgotten to change it on the day.

As I said on another thread, diminished importance as far as Sky are concerned- ie we're already promoted.
Luton v Coventry of more consequence now.

Exactly. It was moved to 12.30 to suit Sky and that messed a lot of travelling fans about badly. Now essentially Sky don't want it because it's diminished in importance, which tbh, is a bloody (unfunny!) joke!!

They’re stuck with Sheffield United v Stoke on Friday night as well, a proper meaningless match. Be interesting to see how they try and drum up enthusiasm!

It would be funny but it'll probably just mean sky say they'll only pick games from April onwards at 7 days notice from next season screwing the fans over even more!

A race that was billed as going to the wire being done and dusted with two to go will be a big disappointment to Sky HQ.

Still a lot to be fought for both top and bottom of the table.

Yep, I don't think SKY envisaged the Blades taking just 3 points from the last 15 available ... They'll go for " This is Stoke's big opportunity to secure Championship football for next season, whilst the Blades need to try to find some form for the play-offs "

Does anybody know if there’s a way of recording the game when it’s only on the red button?
I’m away for the weekend and would like to watch back if I can.
I’ve checked the all the sky channels and the Sky Sports app and can’t find anything to help me record this.
Thanks in advance.

Yep, 100% this. Don't suppose they will be bothered that many will be up at an UnGodly hour for coaches and long drives. Not to mention I'll be up at 5 with my lads for the train.

When football sold its soul to the Devil in the form of Sky, aided and abetted by Amstrad, it was always going to be at the beck and call of its new masters. Supporters sadly don't really matter anymore.

I don’t think so if it is on the red button. I’m often in the same boat as usually working till 3ish on weekends. If it’s the main game you can (obv) but I don’ The only other way that we are going to try on Saturday is that my wife is going to press .pause when the game comes on´ However that might work for a bit then auto cancel. It a pain in the arse!

The way its landed has defintely worked against them.
Premier League top 2 and relegation all sorted, only Europe places left to play for.
As we know Championship promotion sorted and the play offs / relegation will probably be sorted after this weekend.
The next few weeks will see them screening more dead rubbers than a brothel
The fake enthusiasm meter will be going off the scale

Completely stuffed us up also. It’s been advertised by beIN Sports here, live, kick off 9:30pm. Perfect kick off time for us. We’ve had a meet up arranged since at our pub, the Imperial in Melbourne. People have changed plans to attend, especially after sealing promotion, a promotion party.
Now it’s not on at all. Sky have changed the game available for international coverage with just 2 days notice. They’re now showing Luton v Coventry.

Thing is, John. I bet nearly every one of our fans lives in a household that currently has, or at least had in the past, a Sky Sports subscription.

Don't think they even think about it. They only want fans in the grounds for "atmosphere".
Sadly for Sky, we had the temerity to settle the automatic places early doors.

Unfortunately no. You could when it was the traditional red button but since this new deal it's not possible as far as I can see.

You can knock Sky but I think their coverage of the Championship has been great this year. I’m not able to get to many away matches these days for various reasons but have managed to watch a good number of them on Sky+. The actual match coverage has been below average (the prime example being missing Flemming’s goal at Watford) but I prefer the dodgy coverage to none at all. I suspect I won’t have access to half as many away matches in the Premier League.

Looks like it’ll have to be the full match replay on Clarets Player then.

Hi Rammy, if it's no longer being screened by Sky in Oz, won't that allow you to stream it from Clarets +?
