Our away record

With our last game away from home out of the way, it’s worth reflecting on the away form this season. We may never see a record like this again.
For context, on our way to a brilliant league title two years ago, we won one less game and conceded more than twice as many goals.

I wonder if that’s the fewest goals any team has ever conceded away from home in a season.

It could be certainly in 23 games.

Man City got 50 points from 19 games in 2017/18 but conceded 13 goals.

Probably because Chelsea conceded 9 away from home in their record season of 15 total home and away. Liverpool only conceded 4 in 78/79 at home so we are nowhere near that record.

We’d still be 18th and above Preston even if we hadn’t played any home games

Wednesday looking good in fifth in that table.
Just checked their home record - 23rd - Hillsborough form ruined their season.
Hull too - bottom - awful home record put them in the trouble they're in.

It’s incredible that we have only conceded 15 goals. The nearest to us on that stat is Leeds who have conceded almost double that.
Considering the amount of 0-0s we have had, only Leeds and (weirdly) Norwich have scored more than us

The other amazing stat they quoted in the match commentary is that we've only conceded two goals all season in the last half an hour of games and both of those turned out to be consolation goals.
Makes me wonder why I've been fretting so much before the final whistle.

Burnley have conceded just FOUR second half goals this season, home and away.
Burnley have conceded just TWO 2nd half goals AWAY from home!
Burnley have conceded ZERO 2nd half goals AWAY from him since November 3rd.
That is quite simply mind blowing

So we scored more in 90 minutes yesterday than we conceded in 45 second halves (2025 minutes plus time added which would add 180 minutes at 4 per game on average). Mind blown

So we avoided relegation on our away record alone!

Chelsea conceded 6 away goals in 38 games in 2005

The stats for this season are ridiculous. There should be some sort of plaque mounted in some prominent position outside the turf to recognise this feat. Hopefully in claret with blue writing.
