Zian Flemming appreciation

13 goals is not to be sniffed at, but baseball round play as a forward player has really improved.

As a 9 now, whilst not dominant in the air by any stretch, he does get involved physically and make it almost impossible for defenders to get any distance on clearances, which when backed by such a hard working midfield group, gives an out to play higher up the pitch. It’s a vital element he’s added as the season has gone on.

He has been a really good signing. I think he’ll play a big part next season in the Prem. His physicality is definitely needed!

He’s been brilliant since he smashed in that worldie at Norwich.

His all round game at CF has come on massively.

Don't think it's a coincidence he's come on since Bash has been back at the club.

In the rhythm and hasca really powerful shot and can actually head the ball with accuracy! 13 goals - we would have taken that, at the start.

He's earned the right to be in the mix for being involved in our Premier league campaign, was my MOTM yesterday.

Can operate with either foot and can compete physically and appears to relish it.

Has good control for bringing balls out of the sky to boot, good player.

I said on here many times that he was not a target man, but his form in the last couple of months has made him an absolute key player for us (my mom yesterday). I also think he can be a major player for us in the PL.

I'm sure his game has come on over the season, particularly as a number 9, but I also think it's easy to underestimate the importance of the fact he missed pre season and so spent the first 3-4 months if his time with us playing catch up.

Since he's got fully match fit he's been excellent and I imagine he'll be an important option within the squad next season.

I think he's a very good player.

HIs grasp of the CF role in our system has unquestionably improved. Will he have to go through a similar growth in the Prem? Perhaps, but I think he is one of the players who is good enough and big enough to survive in the "Land of the giants". Not necessarily at CF.

An excellent signing. Had a superb sesason.

At the very beginning of our Premier League season we played a 343 against City with Foster and Koleosho flanking Amdouni and whilst we lost, that formation looked reasonably coherent (certainly compared to what followed). On that sort of set up, with one or two players deployed to get close to him or beyond him when we get the chance to attack, I think Flemming can be a success in the Premier League.

Genuine goal scorer that we were looking at when VK was with us. Well worth the helicopter cost at the start of the season

Who replaces him on Saturday?

I recall seeing his helicopter from the upstairs window of my house when we were doing the Flight Tracker thing (going over the Peak District).

There was a lot of excitement at that point on deadline day, and, after a slowish start, it has lived up to it.

We need him popping up from midfield in the PL though. As a 9 he would get dominated by those giants. His skill would be “popping up” a bit like a Tim Cahill etc?

Tim Cahill is an excellent comparison. Maybe not as good (yet) but some genuine similarities. Most of Zian's goals have been fairly spectacular
