Remember seeing Sam Vokes in the Anfield Road end singing when Southampton beat Liverpool to reach the League Cup final.

I've no issues with this. If there was a Burnley fan playing for another club, then I'd probably expect them to come support us at such a massive game on their day off

The game needs more of this

Must have been really hard for Joe to leave Forest, being a fan. Would have been easy for him to have sulked this season too, given his lack of game time for us following the rise of CJ, but from what I have seen he as been the model professional. Seems like a good character to have around.

Joe Worrall has been a vital part of our promotion.

OK, he only played 3 games before his broken foot, but what a contribution. Straight after the Sunderland defeat when the season could have imploded he helped us avoid defeat against Rovers who were good that day (and we needed CJER too for the injured Esteve midgame), we beat Leeds with a guy sent off, then we beat Pompey with a Worrall last minute assist a bit like Redmond last Saturday.

Those 7 points may well have been crucial and for large parts of all 3 matches it didn’t look good. It then started building our momentum.

I’m amazed he didn’t get in the championship team of the season after reading that

A bit different - he plays for them. I was relating to a Burnley player watching the team he supports.

I sat right behind Tom Heaton and his wife at Old Trafford on Boxing Day 2017. He said he’d always wanted to sit in an away end.

People moan and whinge that footballers have no connection with fans, no personalities, wrapped in cotton wool and kept away from the supporters. Then this happens, where a player, no doubt with the full blessing of Parker, attends an FA Cup Semi-Final involving his home city and the team he supports (the first in his life-time), playing against a team with no connection to us and people make comments like 'Good Bye Joe'.

I could not care less about this, it's fantastic and anyone questioning it should give their heads a wobble.

How would feel about a player celebrating with a promotion rival as in Dion Charles celebrating with Bolton fans while being out injured for Huddersfield?

Don’t think we can under-estimate the impact and influence of signings like Joe Worrall particularly when we consider the circumstances that Parker was having to contend with at the time. I remember being delighted at signing an enthusiastic team man like Joe and in the same week we just got the signing of Zian Flemming over the line at the end of the transfer window. If we had not got him in at that time we would’ve struggled even more up front than we did.

Good solid recruitment for the Clarets!

Not seen much of him but a very good signing - the sort of player we need at our club

Bad day for George last Saturday with his Wythenshawe Town side being relegated from the NPL West back to the NW Counties - they only came up last season along with their neighbours Wythenshawe FC, who have also gone straight back down.

A completely different situation, not even vaguely similar to the subject scenario, but in his instance I'd be surprised if he had permission to attend. Either way, the optics are garbage and I'd be pretty irritated.

But as Isay, you cannot compare the two (IF that was the intention).

Didn’t Tarky and Dwight come back to the Turf for a game when they were playing for Everton?

Seems to have been a really positive influence off the pitch this season.

It will be interesting to see what happens with him this summer. Parker would probably love to have him around the squad but I’m assuming he left Forest because he didn’t want to sit on the bench in the PL.

It’s an interesting one when we come up against the team one of our players supports. Vokesy scored a winner against Southampton I think which must have been a weird one for him. Let’s hope Worrall scores against Forest next season.

And still only 28! I had it in my head he was early 30s as he’s one of those players that seems to have been around for ages.

Plenty he can still contribute on and off the pitch for us yet. Ridiculous that at 28 he’s regarded as an ‘old head’ in the dressing room but the age profile of the squad has changed drastically over the last few years.
