Previous best Liverpool 78-79 (0.38)

Now Burnley 24/25 (0.35)

Insane achievement!

Has any other team gone through an entire season never conceding more than one in a game?

Conceding just 16 goals in such a competitive league like the Championship is incredible.
(It was 16, wasn't it?)

Previous second tier best was Sunderland 98-99 (0.61)

And yes just 16 goals and a couple of those were dodgy too.

Not in English football history

I get the lowest goals is a new record and 33 undefeated in the EFL seasons has equalled a record set by who? Port Vale?
30 clean sheets equals the record or surpasses the record?
Keeper clean sheet record of 29 by Trafford-is that a record?
Accurate info appreciated

Reading set the 33 games undefeated when they got 106 points, which we have now matched.

Port Vale number of clean sheets, which have matched.

33 undefeated matches Reading 2005/06 not Port Vale.
30 clean sheets equals Port Vale 1953/54 from division 3 north so ours is a higher level
29 clean sheets by Trafford equals Ray King from the same Port Vale team again at a lower level. That said Ray King was better because he performed groundsman duties as well in the Autumn when leaves were on the pitch.

Thanks for clarification. So the only new record is average goals per game as Chelsea and Preston conceded 15 in a season of 38 and 22 games respectively but we have set quite a few club records this season.

Speaking of records, can anybody lease update the stat regarding five Championship defeats in over a hundred and odd games?
What's the number at now?
Thanks.

Isn't it now 15 defeats in our last four Championship seasons?
5+5+3+2

184 games + 3 in the season before making it 15 defeats in 187 matches at this level.

I think that's correct.

We also only dropped 2 points all season from a winning position. Sadly that was at home to you know who with a once in a lifetime shot !!

I read last night that we’re the first team in English football not to concede more than one goal in a game across a season.

The problem is that some of this stuff is pretty obscure and difficult to research. You’d need digital access to every professional season in the last 150 years and the ability to run a report to check. I suspect there’s a line where the media and historians just think “I’ve not got the time to check that for a second tier side”.

Apparently we only conceded 4 goals in the second half all season. That’s insane and probably also never done before, but nobody is likely to research it to confirm it.
