Re: Tinpot PNE
They are superior don’t you know. Last time they had even half a squeak of the prem it was called the premiership and old Des Lynam was in situ for any highlights. Premier never ever let them enjoy their continued superiority

Re: Tinpot PNE
The irony is that the OP is giving the very same superior vibes that you are digging out Preston for. That Preston post is everything thats good about football. I remember in 95 there being plans for everyone to hit town to party if Man Utd beat West Ham despite Burnley getting relegated and as above thats the beauty of football rivalryHibsclaret wrote: ↑Sat May 03, 2025 5:58 pmThey are superior don’t you know. Very sad if Burnley fans on here start to act all superior just cos at the moment Burnley is Lancashire's #1 team

When did Blackburn win the league I've never heard about that!Devils_Advocate wrote: ↑Sat May 03, 2025 6:06 pmThe irony is that the OP is giving the very same superior vibes that you are digging out Preston for. Re: Tinpot PNE
We’ve been Lancashire’s number one for over a decade. Long may it continue. The north end fans had a hard on when they were a couple of places above us in the league whilst still not being the top team in Lancashire. I don’t think they’ve been the top team in Lancashire since the 1880’s tbh.

I think its fair to say... we are superior
Re: Tinpot PNE
Knobbers only stayed up because the FA chose to not investigate the Racism claims properly
If there really is no case to answer it would have been put to bed by now
Fact is they are totally consumed with jealousy that they have been in the Premier League

Re: Tinpot PNE
They were staring down the barrel today but fair enough managed to do the business right at the very end. Still lots of resentment at the board amongst their fans, unsurprisingly Peter Ridsdale getting the brunt of it. Still an uncertain summer ahead - their player of the season is going back to Villa (Kesler-Hayden, who we should be looking at) and they’re going to lose a good few first teamers.

Seriously DA give it a rest now, it's beyond tedious.Devils_Advocate wrote: ↑Sat May 03, 2025 6:06 pmThe irony is that the OP is giving the very same superior vibes that you are digging out Preston for. Oghani's goal on the Dumpdale plastic in '88 still rankling then. Good.

Re: Tinpot PNE
I’d actually forgotten about the 2 years in 1979 and 1980 when they finished 7th and 10th in the old second division as top Lancashire club tbh. What an incredible achievement 45 years ago.

Well, if that’s all they have to cheer about over the last 9 months, it just about sums up what PNE is all about these days. Absolutely pathetic.

Don’t forget Fleetwood and Morecambe also lost, with Morecambe already relegated.

Re: Tinpot PNE
This isn't necessarily relevant as they have picked up few points in this last quarter of the season.
The key date was October 2nd 2024:
Osmajic was allowed to play against Watford - and scored twice in a 3-0 win, whilst awaiting the verdict on the biting incident, (which was a clear cut offence). It's these 3 points that kept PNE in the Championship.

Re: Tinpot PNE
Quite hard to feel anything about PNE one way or the other. Offered a bit of a derby-lite substitute when we weren’t playing Blackburn but that’s it really.
Don’t mind them staying up, wouldn’t be arsed if they had gone down.

It's hard to be unsympathetic towards a club that hasn't seen top flight football for 64years.

Re: Tinpot PNE
I could understand it if we had we missed out on promotion but celebrating us missing out on the Championship, which hasn't been in our hands for months anyway is a bit desperate.
