Just a message to say thanks to all involved in running this message board.
I don’t post very often but it’s pretty much the first thing I look at every day. It really is a superb source of everything Burnley Football Club and I’m not really sure where I’d look if it wasn’t here!

I know ClaretTony is the main man but I’m sure there are others who moderate it and keep it on an even keel.

Not only is it my first source of info on our club, and rarely a day goes by without me signing in, but there are some immensely helpful people on it should you be needing help or advice on non football matters

As you say it’s a superb source of knowledge and information on pretty much any subject and always entertaining . Personally I don’t like the ban on political discussion and don’t really see the problem with allowing this but anyway I agree thanks are due to all “the management” .

I think one improvement the board / site could benefit from is a "buy me coffee" type button to make a small token gesture of thanks.

Yeah. I’d buy them a coffee alright. Even if it helped to cover costs.

When you look at other boards, they are unreadable because of pop-up ads. So thank you not just for your time and effort, but also for not monetising it in ways most forums do. I completely agree with the above, that a "donate" link could be added. If everyone gave a few quid a season even, that would be more than appropriate.

Spot on just ban the clowns who resort to personal abuse towards those who don't agree with their view points and it's sorted

I don't see many other boards - but the ones I have seen are unreadable - like a local newspaper with the pop up ads.

You learn to skim read past the loons, wind ups and squabblers to the point where I barely even notice them now. The good outweighs the bad on here, it's still the first place I look for news.

It is a mine of information for someone like me who likes to know who where and when about our club and CT must have spent weeks getting those results and tables together which I refer to frequently

Agreed. I love the "old school" feel of this forum. Not constantly peppered by adverts and pop ups, a genuinely helpful community, and (for the most part) quite civilised and friendly. Reminds of the "good old days" of the internet back in the late 90s/early 00s.

It’s not bad.

A true labour of love I think for the few who have built it. Giving the next generation a place where they can read about our history. I may not agree with certain things, but we are blessed to have such a place

Just to add my thanks also ... Tony, I think " Rowls " has a great idea there, if you're uncomfortable with it, then perhaps any surplus could be donated to the Club's Community schemes ...

Ideally, instead of " Buy me a coffee ", it should be " Buy me a twix " for our particular board ...

It’s wonderful where else could you find league tables and results back to 1889. I have no idea how CT has time to eat or sleep!
I’m sure the above information would be valuable to other sites like 11v11.
Thought there were historical photos available but can’t find them.
I only hope that there are arrangements in place to keep the site going permanently.

Agreed, it is a great source for opinions and views on all manner of topics, not just football or Burnley and I check it fairly often if not being the most vocal poster.

Glad to see it CT. I didn't want to labour the point if you were completely and utterly against it but to put it into perspective, when I was a kid my Dad paid a fair amount on an LET 'Burnley subscription' just to keep in touch with the club.

We only got the match report papers so we missed out on any midweek gossip and the transfers in close season etc. We'd be invited to purchase promotion specials but, obviously, that was more money on top.

This site provides all that and a whole lot more on top of what we got with the old LET subscription - all without you evenrasking for any payment, let alone a subscription.

As it happens, I'm more broke than I've been at any stage in my life right now but I've made a small token donation to express my thanks. I will endeabour to make a small donation at least once a season and hope others do the same.

What the team at UTC does with the money is entirely your choice. You can put it towards a round of beers at a supporters club meet up, you can put it towards your chosen charities, you can put it towards your own heating bills or you can put it towards a twix at Turf Moor. It doesn't matter. It's a payment for you to thank you for your hard work on this site.

Thanks for giving us this option and thank you to everybody involved once again for the running and upkeep of this website.
