Just listened to a hour long interview with Clarke on Radio Lancashire he talks about his time at Burnley, winning the play off v SH U the love he has for Burnley and of course his mental issues and trying to take his life 5 times. A really interesting interview well worth listening to what sounds like a very genuine likeable guy

A great players for us. And Intelligent in lots of ways. But not sure I find him likeable. Didn't he admit to bullying Wade Elliott in the changing rooms or something?

Not a massive fan, but fair play for turning his life around.

Not sure if it would be appropriate but he good be a good asset for the club in some capacity. Probably some sort of ambassador role.

Good luck to the bloke but must admit reading his book didn't exactly endear me to him.

Every time I see him my thoughts are always with the poor driver involved in one of the incidents

I actually met him at a match when I was in the lounge area and he came across as a genuine guy with a real affection for the club. Enough said.

My brother has special needs / disabilities and assisted the ground staff at Turf Moor for a few years. Clarke used to make him cups of tea and chat to him for long periods. So we have respect for Clarke and hope he stays well.

Clarke is a really good bloke who sadly suffers with his mental health. I’ve witnessed personally both sides of him but when he’s in a good place he’s really good.

Depression is the pits. It takes you to the deepest darkest places of your own mind. There must be hundreds, maybe thousands of Burnley supporters who suffer.

(please no tasteless jokes people)

Clarke has spoken out to try help other people. There is a huge lack of help from the NHS (not enough psychiatrists).

The club supported prostrate cancer but maybe depression is the real challenge?

What I like about Clark, is that he's helped change the image of people who have mental health issues.
They're not maniacs, wrapped up in straight jackets. They're normal, professional people. They're someone you work with or are friends with.
Also, he was part of that brilliant, exciting team that got us into the Premier league for the first time

At the time he was playing for us I really, really liked everything he, did and said. He wore his heart on his sleeve and he seemed like a total inspiration and was all I liked about our team and him as a a team player who really got it. How things turned out never once made me question him as a human being or a fan. For someone who had such intelligence, skill, talent and utter commitment I was devastated when it all went so badly wrong for him and his family. It really brought home that depression wasn't just something that affected losers, wasters, weak people etc. I hope he is able to recover.

He will always be a Claret.

Nice, clever guy with huge mental health issues to combat.
