Poor goalkeeping.
I donโt see either of these sides beating Sheffield United.
1-1.

Isidor & Rudoni potential targets? Latter could shape as a Brownhill replacement (if needed).

Got home from the u18 game, made a brew and then sat down and immediately saw two goals.
So not seen much but they werenโt so far behind the top three for no reason.

Coventry do like a suicidal back pass

Big error from the keeper - should have hauled him down, took the red outside the box, and missed the second leg.

Andy Hinchcliffe saying that Hadji Wright shouldn't have taken a touch there. Well he was facing away from goal with a defender behind him, Andy.
Utter moron.

Hoping Sunderland win this one as can see Lampard making Coventry very competitive next season should they go up

The first legs have proved a pretty accurate reflection of the 4 teams relative league finishing positions.
Still immensely relieved that we're not involved mind.

Yeah, so late in the game the red card wouldn't have really mattered. Its hard to think logically in the heat of the game though. Feel a bit sorry for the lad who played the backpass.

Sunderland certainly know the dark arts and played them well to manage the game. Be interested to see how they approach the second leg.

The Sunderland fan socials will be being bombarded by Cov fans and their usual whining no doubt tonight. Referee will be classed as the worst they have had etc
Just hope Sunderland complete the job at the SOL

Asking for a friend of Mr Pace.
Which team in the play offs has the least potential clout. Take Bristol out of it.

Total f**k up.
Wouldn't mind either of these two in the PL with us.
Coventry would be nailed on to go down and Sunlan
are inveterate bottlers.
Agree though that it'll probably be Sheff U.

Sunderland may just have timed this right. Looked good earlier in the season, tailed off a little and disappeared when it looked like it was a 3 way between us, DL and blades. Sneaky suspicion theyโve been keeping their powder dry knowing automatic was gone but play offs guaranteed.

I saw a fact this week (i didn't check it, so it could be spurious) but it stated Blades have been in the play offs in some league or other 10 times and never won one. Amazing if true.

I think Sheff U will win it this time, Dark Cloud.

Just to make the final more interestingly bizarre, both Sheff Utd and Sunderland should both wear their recognised adopted strips of red white stripes and black shorts.

Sheffield United 3
Sunderland 2
Coventry 1
Bristol City 0.
The first leg scores could have been AI generated.

Unfortunately the refs are bad enough without having to deal with that.

It's nine times. Their first one was actually to stay up, they were relegated to what is now League 2.
Preston had participated in the Play-Offs 9 times without success before winning the League One Play-Offs in 2014/15.

I always said Sunderland look the most likely in a play off situation, which is exactly why I never wanted us in there.

We only finished 24 points above them.
