Only just heard that actor George Wendt died peacefully in his sleep yesterday. Appearing in every episode of Cheers as everyone’s favourite bar fly (and later with co-star Kelsey Grammer in Frasier) . He was clearly s popular off stage as on according to the flood of well wishes and condolences his family has received from his former co-stars. RIP

What would you say to a beer Norm?

Loved that show and he was a major reason why it felt lovely when you watched it.

I always wanted to pop in for a beer with Norm.

Sign of the times that cheers finished, being based in a bar, and friends started, being based in a coffee house! :o

I first visited Boston getting on 30 years ago. Visited the "Cheers" bar - really just the steps leading down to the entrance door - for a beer. Bought the Cheers t-shirt "where everyone knows your name." Stayed in Boston a couple more times in the years since, always call at the "Cheers" bar.

Cheers, Norm.

Logged in just to "like" that pictorial. Brilliant. :)

One of the best programmes ever to appear on the TV. As alluded to
earlier, I always felt comfortable and cosy watching it - somehow felt
to be part of the customers. Great, great storylines,
clever humour and above all, brilliant characters.

May look a little dated if re-run now, but I would love to be able to find out..

Thanks for the good times "Norm"

RIP

It's on Paramount+ - very good quality because it was all filmed on "film" so it looks great. I've been through it a couple of times in the last few years.

Second this. The humour hasnt dated. The performances havent dated. It really is a great show.

This then Frasier equals months of quality television.

When I watch it, it just feels like you're watching actual people. You are watching Norm. And he is funny and a nice guy.

Sad day :(

Boy, are you in for a treat.

"What's going on Mr Peterson?"
"It's what's going in Mr Peterson that I care about."

Really benefitting from it having been filmed on proper tackle. It doesnt look as washed out as it might otherwise.
