Yep, but it’s their main board I think, so they presumably just put up with it.

They spent a lot of money on wages this season and took a big gamble with the parachute payments, I've heard a few things from their fans saying the new owners said further investment would require promotion. Obviously I can't verify it but I doubt you will see Cooper or Hamar playing for them next season.

I wonder if he regrets the tantrum he had on the pitch with his players down in Plymouth. Maybe some players decided they wouldn't bust a gut for him after that and their season seemed to implode thereafter...

I know he has his haters but I feel for him tonight after some great performances this season. The minute the game was over he went quickly to congratulate the Sunderland manager and coaching team.

Sadly for Sheff Utd they did not lose it today, they lost it with 3 defeats in one week in April. It may lead to a few departures-for me Campbell would be an immense signing. In the same mould as Foster but someone who can do what Foster does well on a more consistent basis, and to greater effect.

Wow, didn’t realise that you didn’t take any money for all the hard work and hours you and the mods put into this.
Many thanks for all the dedication you have CT, I don’t think I would frequent the board if it was like Sheff Utd’s board, what an absolute nightmare it is!

It's fantastic. There are a handful of posters who use this site pretty much every day, yet they revel in getting digs in at the people who run it. They won't know what they've got until it's gone.

Sheff Utd got the highest points total in their history and that was with a 2 point deduction. So I can't say they lost it in the season.
They just weren't clinical today in the first 60 minutes when they were all over Sunderland.

Have to Respect Wilder there.
Again complementary to us and Leeds. Very Honest appraisal of the match. Congratulated Sunderland and was completely right about VAR being involved in this match, whilst not being involved in the 46 other matches plus play off matches.
Might not like him but respect given where respect due.

Did he say...two great teams above us got 100 points and we only got 92 points. He won't let that 2 points go, will he!

Its tough to take for everyone connected to clubs losing in the play off finals.
I felt a bit for sheff fans in 2009 when we were coming back up the M1.
all the kids that see the team beaten never really forget. It hurts.
Chris Wilder is ok , and that post match interview showed how it gets to people after a long, tough campaign.

Just listened he came across honest & well grounded in his assessment. It wouldn’t surprise me if he moved on to fresh pastures for his own sanity & Sheffield United wanting to move in a different direction.

One or two of the people who run this board are very prominent with their opinions and attitudes both to subject matters and other posters.
Everyone has a right to express their opinion even if it disagrees with the said moderators.. That happens.
I'm sure you will agree with this , so maybe you could tell me what you mean by these digs you refer to.

As I said before, this board is a fantastic resource and one you, I, and many others spend a lot of time on. We should be thankful to the people who put the time in to make it what it is.

Since your previous message to me strongly implied that you recognise the digs I refer to, there is no need for me to list them for you.

Horrendous use of subs but the whole team looked leggy with 20.mins left. Wilder is a good fit for Blades but the new board will want a "name "in so I feel he's history.

Said it a couple of times this season, they look knackered in last 20 minutes, just not fit enough.

Still banging on about points totals. The only one of the managers in the promotion battle that has done this all season. It’s no wonder they have fallen short with that mentality. Also he does his press conference having not spoken to the players when it’s an hour after the match. Any leader worth his salt would have at least grabbed a couple of minutes to collectively give them some words of wisdom or sympathy before facing the main press conference. Busted flush.

For those expressing their appreciation for this board, there is a way you can make a small donation to the site via the link below:

https://www.uptheclarets.com/coffee

The link allows you to make a small donation just to say 'Thank You' for everything this site provides.

It's not just the message board (which needs constant moderation)
It's the match reports
The news items - player transfers etc
The organisation of features like Rate the Ref
Running of a number of charitbale and fun activities like Guess the Gate
Helps to organise coach travel via the messageboard
Collation of fixtures, stats etc
There's going to be plenty of stuff I've not mentioned too - all things we should be thankful for.

And, if you've visited the Sheffyoo board, you'll realise that it's being done on a site that is readable and not inundated with adverts.
It's easy in life to take things for granted but now that we have the 'buy me a coffee' link, it's also easy to make a small donation (of any size, even if it's just symbolic) to say a small 'thank you' for everything the site provides.

Given the situation I thought Wilder was magnanimous in the way he handled himself. He was also very generous towards us after we beat them to gain automatic. I can't understand why some people have a disapproving attitude towards him. My thoughts are also very much with the Sheffield United community this morning in what must be a very difficult moment. For me there a proper football club with a genuine fan base.

I mean guys and gals credit where credit is due. Just look at all the info available on this Board about our club
Tables and results from year dot. Players from squad list down to most league goals and BFC youth academy graduates; and a whole lot more info for the Clarets fans who are geekish. ALL of the info at our fingertips is down to CT and maybe others spending hours and hours of their time gathering the info and putting it on the MB for free.
We are so so privileged to have guys and gals who made this happen.
Go onto Claretsmad and see how that plummeted once UTC spun away.

You should have seen how magnanimous he was when he was chanting in the pub about Sheff W and mind the gap etc after a derby win. He will be able to mind the gap next season when Wednesday are playing Utd with him absent from the dugout.

One thing worse than a bad loser is a bad winner and he has definitely been one of those all season.

A case study in the pitfalls of having a fan as a manager. Classless behaviour after the derby win, committed the cardinal sin of digging out the away support after the defeat at Oxford and generally gave the impression he was feeling it at the end of season, including the bizarre insistence of including the points deducted in their overall points total. I think he’d be better seeking a new challenge now.

Pantomime villain like Warnock. I’m very happy to give him loads of stick at the match but he manages the team he supports and behaves like the avererage fan would….in the sanitised, disconnected world of football in the 2020s I quite like that. But I’d rather have a manager like SP any day!
