International youth tournament this weekend at Gawthorpe

I've got tickets for me and my daughter for Sunday's games.
It will be my first time down at Gawthorpe for many years, so it will be nice to see the facilities down there.
For anyone who went to last year's tournament, do the club do guided tours around the facilities during the event?

They didn't do last year (as far as I can remember). You'll be impressed with the facilities down there

I think last year you could park in the school next door and the club ran a shuttle bus to the venue.

That’s good. I think it’s the first time they’ve done that?
I won’t be able to go this year so will watch on that.
It’s an absolutely fantastic event. For anyone who has got tickets you’ll have a brilliant day. Loads going on and some great football to watch.

It is, and I think this is an absolutely fantastic event. The owners and staff who make this happen should take huge credit for it.
In the interests of balance though, we’ve changed the timing this year from September to May, I think. So it’s now an end of season tournament and we seem to have lost a lot of good teams: Juve, Newcastle, Liverpool, Everton, Wolves and Rangers. Some good teams added: Dortmund, Sevilla and Celtic, but not overall I don’t think the date change has helped us grow the tournament.

I went last year so hadn’t realised (or remembered).
Brilliant though. Especially for all the kids families across Europe that can watch them play.

Burnley lads playing now.
1-1, Chelsea just equalised. Unlucky as it looked a good save.

2-2, great finish to equalise.
5 to go. Better team in my view.

2-2 FT.
Probably a fair result in retrospect. Chelsea had a couple of big chances.

Good game. Some very technical players in the Burnley side.
The coaches are vocal aren’t they? I was quite surprised at that.

That age group is very good. Number 3 particularly and number 10 when he’s not getting himself in trouble with the ref
Yeah, the coaches are vocal, fans normally very silent at academy level as they’re told to keep quiet to let the coaches give instructions. So you can hear the coaches a lot.
They need to be careful where the microphones are that they don’t get caught criticising, swearing, etc.

Ref was a bit yellow card happy! Although no 10 was very lucky to not get a 2nd yellow !

Very!!
I’d have taken him off immediately. He’s an excellent player when focused on the game though.

I thought the ref had asked the lad to show him what a yard looked like

Think it was more him telling the ref what he thought a yard was
Some player though. Excellent second game.

For anyone thinking of attending tomorrow or Sunday, you need to get tickets online and the park and ride from Shuttleworth College was excellent. A fleet of minibuses going backwards and forwards as required every few minutes.

I watched on you tube. I thought the young lad who played in centre midfield for last part if the Chelsea game and most of the second game looked a player. Similarly the centre midfield with the fair hair tried to and did a lot of good things too. The number 3 was a clearly further physically more mature than a lot of the others but he could play too.
