What was bizarre was Flood trying to get him back just over two years later on a short term contract.

I'd take Cotterill any day of the week over Laws. He's a proper football manager that understands the tactical and coaching aspects. No doubt about that but It was probably the best thing that could happen. It meant Laws was out of the door quickly and Howe knew very quickly that a lot of the players needed to follow him out. If we'd stuck with that road we were on we wouldn't have had all the success we've had since.
