Can anyone explain to me why any Burnley
fan don’t like the idea of us being in the premier league? other than v. a . r . We are in the best league in the world, and gaining
revenue to keep us in business for a small town club. And competing against some of the world’s greatest players. if we do go
straight back down we have been there and done it. How many other clubs I e . Preston
and bas——-ds would love to be in our position
right now.

I’m happy that we are playing at the highest level and hopeful that we stop up. But ultimately I get more joy walking away from the Turf when we have won, whatever the level, than losing, whoever the opposition.
But the first step to competing at this level is stopping up - look at Forest. It took us a couple of seasons yo-yo-ing last time under Dyche so I’m hoping we learned enough last time around to stop up this time.

It’s painful watching us get battered most weeks. It’s as simple as that.
Clinging on hoping for 17th doesn’t make an exciting campaign for me.

It's probably because we already have 'been there and done it'. Getting battered every week gets boring by mid-September. By January you're desperate for the season to end.
Ipswich fans will have been excited. Sunderland probably also as it's been a while. But for us, Sheff Utd, maybe Leicester or Southampton, it's just a season to endure and collect the cash so we can enjoy a great Championship year again.
And VAR obvs.

When the only benefit is money, which all goes to the players, agents & owners there seems little point in it.

I want Burnley to be the best they can possibly be so that means playing in the highest division possible

When we got promoted one of my first emotions was relief rather than elation. Part of my dislike of the premier league is that the financial implications are as much in my mind as the footballing achievement. Getting beat most weeks is tough, but it's not just about the football now, it's a continuous calculation about the viability of our club's future.
It's not so much I don't want us in the Premier league from a football pov, but that it's unfortunately not just about the football.

Not cheering when we've scored is a myth. A reaction to a goal is spontaneous and although it might get wiped out it could also give a second opportunity to celebrate.

It's not so much I don't want us in the Premier league from a football pov, but that it's unfortunately not just about the football.
Similar thoughts with me. A lot of Burnley fans never seem to mention the financial side of things and would be happy remaining in the Championship. Yet that would eventually see us as a mid-table Champ side and then a League 1 side.

Last time we were in the Premier League we scored 41 goals and had 2 ruled out by VAR - not celebrating goals when they go in is very much a personal choice

Last time we were in this league we didnt win a single home game in an 11 v 11 match. Both our wins were against 10 men for over half the match with red cards both in the early stages of the first half from memory.

From the 2025/26 season, corner kicks will be awarded to opposing teams if a goalkeeper holds onto the ball for more than eight seconds, the International Football Association Board (IFAB) has declared.
Saw this a few months ago.Is it definitely going ahead in the premier league?

The feeling is nowhere near as good as when that ball hits the net and you’re in the moment. You cannot replicate that.

Aye, but VAR disallowing Foster’s perfectly good winner at Forest is the kind of thing that sticks in your head.

Early in the game not season.
Actually having checked Sheffield went down to 10men in injury time at the end of first half but it was the 4th minute when Brentford went down to 10 men

Last time we went up we all were a bit giddy about finishing in the top half then kompany ripped up the hymn sheet and changed the lyrics…this time we’re going up with hopefully the team that got us there( time will tell) and we know exactly how we’re going to play.. it’s whether we can score enough to keep us up so it’s great we’re back

this is all lunacy, why bother going on the games if after a tough slog by all involved , and attaining the top slots to go up , would you give in to this apathy three months before we kick off up there?
its as if all their efforts were useless because they took you somewhere you hate, but yet they celebrated on turf moor, packed out the town centre cheering the team for achieving promotion.

I remember Stan Collymore (yes I know!) advocating exactly this years ago on Talk Shite. It could be heading that way but then Bournemouth and any other Oligarch owned clubs would need to be sorted out first - perhaps slowly by dodgy refereeing decisions !!

We lost some games by fading off in the last few minutes .We had some good results notably winning at Luton and Fulham. We are a better side with more potential than last time.We will be on TV lots and we will finish in midtable

I dislike that Chelsea can make a pre-tax loss of approx £300,000,000 and still be within PSR,
...whilst Burnley are obliged to make a pre-tax profit of approx £20,000,000 in order to comply.
What's the point of being in the Premier League with that kind of imbalance - on top of everything else?

Losing our best players to other Premier League clubs who then bench them and then expect us to compete at the top level with inexperienced substitute appointments.
Keep our best players and build the team around them and we have a chance if we buy wisely players with experience of the division.
