American Sam Burns and Kiwi Ryan Fox in a playoff.

I realise it’s a non story on UTC however Chris Wood was shown in the executive area cheering on his fellow Kiwi.

Fox won on fourth playoff hole………Yesssss. Always good to see a non Yank winning on PGA tour :D :D

I was hoping he was going to win but his pulled drive on the 1st into the trees was horrendous. He did well to find his ball let alone walk away with a par. Looking forward to Oakmont this Thursday but can't realistically see past a Scottie Scheffler win.

Racing Post golf tipster Steve Palmer suggested backing 4 golfers in the Canadian Open and one of his recommended bets was Ryan Fox 1.5 points EW at 66/1.
So a nice profit for those who heeded his advice.

I hope USGA have lost their obsession for protecting par, they've had some crazy course setups in recent years.

Its good to see them get a proper test once or twice a year. They play enough easy courses on the PGA tour where they're all shooting 20/25 under.

Keep thinking Sepp Straka could have a major in him the way he's been playing over the last 18 months or so.

Agreed, there's nothing wrong with having a tough setup to test the guys. However there is fine line between fast greens and greens that have to be syringed between groups to avoid them becoming un-puttable. USGA are masters at crossing that line!
