He looked back to the player I remember away at QPR. He definitely has the talent, and is still super young. I think he needs regular football next season though to continue his development so a decision will need to be made IMO on whether a loan with guaranteed starts at a high standard might make sense for this coming season? It would be a real waste for him to barely be getting off the bench for us, if that was the alternative.

Well either you were watching after he got subbed off or you weren't paying any attention. Was deservedly man of the match and there were plenty of neutrals raving about him.

Good to hear. Don't think he's ever lacked confidence rather decision making seems to be his achilles heel.

I thought his performance at QPR was surprisingly very encouraging. His turn of speed and skill at the right time as well as his use of the ball was great to watch. I think he could be a surprise package in the PL.

His skill set is far more suited to the PL compared to the low blocks we often face in the Championship.

And then, as expected given his treatment last season, was straight back on the bench the next game and wasn't even given any minutes - with a loan player we had no intention of signing brought on instead when Edwards was subbed off.

He looked a lot bigger than he had previously in the QPR game...like he'd been hitting the gym.
He just needs to get his head up..always running down blind alleys.
Hopefully there's a player there.

His biggest problem last season was a heavy touch going inside his defender. It invariably went to the next covering defender. Should be easy to get right on training pitch and as said he is still young and was coming back from a long lay off.

He didn’t look to have the same explosiveness last season, he was still quick but not the same as he was before the injury.
It can take a long time to get over such a long injury and some never return the same, he needs time which is why I thought those criticising him on here were jumping the gun.
He did however look more like himself at QPR.

I think Luca has the talent. He was a touch unfortunate last season in that, his main spell in the team came during the period there was still a lot of gelling going on and we lacked attacking fluidity, then he got a minor injury, came back and Anthony was in good form, then Edwards joined, with the rest history. As said, his performance at QPR was good, when the team played with a swagger. I think we’ll see him feature in the Prem as Parker will know we need some real pace to trouble teams in transition.

I think he has the raw athleticism and pace but technical ability seemed to be lacking on a few occasions this season.
Big season for him this year. Got to think he’s got to stake a claim in the starting eleven or he will be sent out on loan

He has tons of raw talent and, unlike some 'flair' players, works hard for the team, no question on his effort and attitude. Just seems a bit lacking in decision making in the final third. That souped improved with age and experience but will likely always be his weak point.

Agree. I think he has a lot of technical ability it's just often decision-making that was letting him down.

He isn't super young though in today's game. Please can you tell me a club at a high standard will give anyone a guaranteed start, never mind to a loanee.

Playing really well, looks like such a threat.
Imagine if we were only just signing him now, twenty years old and pace to burn. Playing this well for his country in a tournament. How excited we'd all be about him joining Burnley.
Frustrating at times last season but really hoping it works out for him with us. If we play on the counter a bit next season he could have a lot of joy.

That's a bit unfair and shows you don't watch Burnley much. He hardly ever gets into that position.

I've seen him enough to know a lot of his shots are powder puff. By the way I watch every game. It's about opinion

Similar goal to the one at Leeds last season. Not enough of them mind

After the injury he had 2 seasons ago, it usually takes time and a number of games before the body functions to its full potential after returning.
Unfortunately a large % of fans aren't willing to give a player that much time.
We saw at QPR that his strength and confidence had improved at last.
Expect similar from Ramsey this season. In other words don't expect him to hit the mark in the first half of the season, but he will need game time, so will get picked for the squad.

If anything against Leeds he picked the ball up deeper and more to the other side of the field, more centrally. Both outstanding goals and yes more needed like that from him. These goals show his potential and while I might be critical of the lack of power in his shots normally, almost mishitting them, it's always a good thing to realise these young players are constantly improving.

The goal at Leeds was almost at right back. The only similiarities is that he ran with the ball and scored.
I do agree with you that we need more of it

I agree with a lot of your posts but he wasn't more centrally. The fall was in their right back position.

No problem, I hope we are talking about the Leeds goal. It's a while since I saw that one and from memory against Leeds he picked the ball up deep towards our right side and just kept on running, I thought quite centrally. Let's get a link

Yeah I was talking about the Leeds goal - my memory isn't that bad! haha,
Our goal vs Leeds was in their right-back. The slip and then he went on the run.

Watched both back. And both still remind of each other.
Runs from deep. Direct. And hits the ball into the corner. Very similar goals.

Tremendous goal from him last night. If he played club football for anyone else we’d all be fawning over him.
He’s still only 20 years old, has bags of talent and the potential to play at a very high level, hopefully with us, but he just needs nurturing and patience.
