Didn't want to derail the 'possible signing thread', which diverted to Besart Berisha.
It got me thinking as to how many signings have we made, where either an existing injury or one picked up early in a Burnley career has ruined the signing.
I'll start you off with Jonathan Walters.

Of the current crop I think Tresor has been unlucky along with Ramsey. Beyer could fall into the same category but had a good start under Kompany. Ade Akinbiyi did start with a bang that had us all wondering.

Arguably Ben Gibson.
Aaron Ramsey, although he still has chance to have a good Burnley career.

I think John Clayton scored on his debut and then never played again, but I could be wrong!

Who was the right back Coyle signed on loan that quickly got injured? Russell was he called? Duff ended up playing there.

Russell Anderson, was gutted for him he looked a very good player at the level.
Neil Whatmore wasn't the same player Bolton had.

Garlick's signing of a certain Brighton, one legged midfielder comes to mind.
Nathan Redmond must be in with a shout.

Steven Dufour arrived injured, played whilst being injured and left us injured but the guy showed some b0llocks and got himself out on that pitch because he had pride in himself and pride in the Club.
What a player, what a man.

Fun fact : Ekdal has never played a game for us fully fit.
Looks like after a successful loan to get games into him and subsequent internationals we may just see a fit and firing Ekdal this year.

Joe Worrall is another who surely signed to be our first choice and only got replaced by CJER because of injury... Without that injury to JW, CJ might have been heading out of the door this summer without any of us grumbling.
I saw Nahki Wells get a mention further up; am I right in remembering that he was already quite severely injured when we bought him?

Lee Howey - or was he just crap?
Tony Philliskirk
Kevin Reeves was sensational until the career ending injury - had he stayed fit, John Bond's time at Burnley would have been very different I suspect

Not sure if Kevin Reeves had an injury as such. I think it was hip arthritis-went on to have his hip replaced. Would hopefully never have signed him these days as the medical tests and imaging would have been more thorough

He scored a great (free kick I think) at the turf but I have a memory he played at Bolton possibly the game after and was then never seen again!

That's correct. His debut was in the same game as Adrian Heath made his, at Stockport.
Inchy scored, but we still lost.

Remember Inchy scoring at Stockport not surprising it was in a defeat there. Great player for us.
