Scheduled for the 13th of August, 3 days before they play us Do people think it will help them by being match fit or maybe ( hopefully) tired them a little?

I had this hope when we played Utd once around the time they were in the European final. Zlatan era. They beat us.

Been talk on multiple threads about if the game would be moved. The Premier League knew before releasing fixtures and Spurs have had plenty of time to request a Sunday so surely it is unlikely to be moved.

Generally teams that play in Europe on a Wednesday don't have their following league game moved. Some even play in the earlier KO time of 12.30pm.

I thought, as a general rule, if clubs play European games on Tuesday or Wednesday they don't impact Saturday schedules. If the game was on the Thursday it would definitely be moved. Hopefully it stays on the Saturday as I'm planning on going with my son. Sunday is far more of a hassle on the train!

I’ve heard a few lads at work saying the premier league can move games with later notice this season given there are loads of teams in the league in European comps.

This warning was given more with the later rounds of European competitions in mind especially with 3 teams playing Thursday nights, unless Palace get kicked out

Been discussed on the fixtures thread - it’s teams who play on a Thursday night whose games are moved to a Sunday. There is no logical reason for our game to be moved.

On what basis are you saying that??
Premier League teams who play in the Champions League on Wednesday don't have their league game moved from the following Saturday to the Sunday.

Just on the basis bigger clubs get more than the smaller clubs in the league.

Should be noted that Manchester City played the same game on Weds 16th August 2023 against Sevilla in Greece, then played as normal on Saturday 19th August 2023 at home to Newcastle.
Dont think theres any real need to be moving that game

“ There is no logical reason for our game to be moved.”
You’re forgetting though CT the FA and PL don’t do “logical”.

Nothing to do with the FA but the PL games don't get moved because a team is playing on a Wednesday night in Europe.

Sorry don't quite follow why that would entail moving our game at Tottenham to Sunday?

If Palace do get kicked out their place would be given to the highest placed non=qualifier i.e. their 'rivals', Brighton.

So they do move games when a side is in Europe on a Wednesday.
Let’s hope they don’t move this one.

Spurs league game before the final was moved from the Saturday to the Friday, as it also was for Man Utd
They don’t move league games played after European games played on Wednesdays
This won’t be moved

Sunday actually but anyway, there was no mention of before or after in the post I originally replied to.
Let’s hope common sense prevails and you are correct with your last line.

If PSG win the World Club Cup then the Super Cup will be moved to a Thursday which will then shift our game to the Sunday.
So maybe not 'End of'!

Why would PSG possibly winning the CWC on 13th July effect their game against Spurs on 13th August?
