Lancs CCC

Post by claretonthecoast1882 » Wed Jun 25, 2025 2:19 pm

Maybe Lancs should play away from the concert arena more often.

After scoring over 600 in 1 innings now have Kent 91/5 still needing 174 behind

Could it be the 1st league win of the season

Denly just gone for 57, Kent are now 116/6 needing a further 149 to force us to bat again. It's the last day so it really is just a matter of bowling them out now.

215/7 !! Only 50 behind now and if we’re not careful we’ll have to bat again and there might not be time to win it !

Over 100 scored since the last wicket fell. Only 48 behind now, maybe heading for a draw.

Attendances are higher at the out-grounds too. Sunday and Monday had 1,400 in the ground at Blackpool each day - I was there myself on Monday. EOT looks quite forlorn hosting CC games with 3-400 in the ground. The irony is that our CC1 champions campaign in 2011 we played most games at Liverpool CC at Aigburth. ECB looking to reduce the CC schedule down to 12 games - reduction of 2 matches. Worrying times for the lovers of 4 day red ball cricket.

We have snatched a draw from the jaws of victory. Still no win in div 2 this season.

Seriously impressive that we managed to draw that match. Some truly dismal bowling at the end, but every credit to Stewart and Evison

The ECB seem to be firmly in the camp that believes the best preparation for test cricket is playing in the Hundred competition.
