wish him the best, looked good at Huddersfield other than his missed chance. Hope we got a reasonable fee for him.

Fee is ok as long as there is a chunky sell on clause. We cant be seen to be standing in players' way if they arent going to get games

It's on here somewhere, £350k with possible add-ons.

350,000 seems low. Hope there’s a sell on

One thing about Dara, he must have done really well in his two loans last season given the number of clubs chasing him.

Yes, it's not a dig, just the only info on money that seems to be out there...right or wrong.

Possibly but I haven't heard any rave reviews. It seems like he's got a reputation as a decent talent more so than from his actual performances so far, possibly through word of mouth.

I might be miles out but I'm guessing he's a really high level in training but hasn't quite translated it into numbers yet. Would explain why Kompany was so impressed with him along with many other managers. He doesn't struggle for decent loans which isn't always the case with our young guns

He looked a decent prospect against huddersfield and (was it Luton) and for a young winger, a good size. Had he scored that chance at Huddersfield who knows. But he has got some good moves and this is definitely a good permanent switch. Still think there is a player in there!

According to the Wigan forum:

"A graph from 'EFL analytics' charted Costelloe as one of the best forwards in League One last season based on 'expected goals' and 'expected assists"

Must have done ok for sure

Good luck to the lad. Deserves first team football.

Always seemed a hard working lad with a great attitude who won't go hiding. That alone means he should be able to carve out a decent career for himself and get some success. All the best, Dara.

I’ll take Kevin Nolan’s word I think.

A little surprised he’s gone permanently. I expected another loan. To me he did not look a million miles off, which led me to believe we were just waiting for that little bit extra and him filling out; but best of luck to him at Wigan, I expect it will not be the last we see of him if he keeps developing.

Probably the most successful of all the lads we've had out on loan since Adam Phillips. I don't suppose there'll be many 22 year olds who scored double figures last season who you can pick up for 350k. Good luck to the lad, I wouldn't be surprised to see him scoring 15-20 for Wigan next season.

Wigan will be hoping to score a few more goals next season having added strikers Saydee, Paul Mullin and now Costelloe to their ranks this month.

Mullin didn't do much last season for Wigan, only started nine games and scored just three goals.

Apart from one or two clubs, Birmingham above all, L1 clubs don't pay much by way of fees.
