Networking via this board

A few months ago I posted that me and a business partner had opened a bar in Todmorden (The Beer Necessities) and on that thread Ian (aka PenfoldClaret) reached out to introduce himself as the owner of Roosters brewery in Harrogate.
Over the last few months, thanks in a large part to Ian's approach to business and his brilliant sales chap Phil, we've built a strong relationship and regularly stocked Roosters fine beers across cask, keg and in our fridge.
Today, we've just had two permanent Rooster keg lines put in and one of those will be a specially co-branded gluten-free beer which we're launching in the next couple of weeks. The other line is going to be a rotating line with various seasonal specials and some of their core offering.
Ian and his team have been so open to our ideas and I'm really excited to see what we're going to do with the partnership in the second half of the year!
So, among the occasional squabbles that happen on this board, I just thought I'd highlight how it brought two Claret-owned businesses together in what is a tough industry.
(And the underlying message is drink Roosters beer - preferably at the Beer Necessities in Tod!).

What a brilliant thread - this is what this message board should be.

Pretty sure I had a pint of a Roosters ale in a pub in Cardiff about 9 years ago. Really good ale from memory

Through a thread on this board I had help in getting a book published. I think it's such a great community for that sort of thing.

Great post and just shows the power of the board. Sorry to hijack but your experience has made me wonder - I'm a Primary teacher and we are facing a really tough budget next academic year meaning many of the workshops we have paid for in the past we can no longer afford but I wondered if we had anyone on here with careers linked to Science, History, Geography, DT or Art who would give up an hour or two to do a talk/run a simple workshop?

I didn't realise Rooster's was owned by a Burnley fan. I had a pint of the Assassin in my local (The Town Hall pub) a few weeks ago and it was superb.
Glad to hear it sounds like the bar is doing well Mr G!

Same here, they make some excellent beers. Don't seem to see them as my much though these days

I'm happy to say I'm already an exponent of the "underlying message"!!

Was it inspired by the great Kevin "Rooster" Russell or just a noisy early rising chicken?

Love this, and massive props for the gluten-free beer too. My wife is coeliac and if we find a bar where we can have a beer together, we'll usually end up in there. See if we can pop in when we're next up that way.

It's been a big thing for us since the second week we opened. On opening night we had a single GF beer in the fridge and couple of people asked if we were getting more so we dedicated a permanent line to changing GF beers (which have gone down superbly well). We now have that line, the permanent Rooster GF line and, once we can sort logistics more consistently, will also have a permanent Bristol Beer Factory line and all their beers are GF and vegan.
The fridge also has a range of GF beers of all styles (including a very nice stout from Bowland Brewery!).

Roosters Beers are great, Baby Faced Assassin certainly lives up to its name.
Another Brewery from this side of the Pennines you may like to try (if you haven't already) is
www.cravenbrew.co.uk in Crosshills, as per Roosters the owner is a season ticket holder at TM
If you or your customers have enjoyed Elland 1872 Porter in the past then the VIP at Craven Brew will go down well.

Thanks Yorkshire - I’ve seen the Craven stuff around and just not got around to reaching out.
Always looking to add new names to our list so I’ll reach out to them this morning - do you have a best contact name?

No problem Ightenhill, not 100% sure but if you speak to Robert Naylor (One of the Brews Bros, from the original Naylors Brewery on same site) I'm sure he'll be able to point you in the right direction.
Contact details as taken from website.
To stock our beers, or for any trade enquiries, please get in touch below via any of the options. The office is generally open Monday to Friday 9am till 4pm and emails are monitored regularly.

Was driving from Leeds to Barlick today, so I popped in on the back of reading this post and picked up some VIP to try, cracking beer!

Hope you enjoy ChrisG, I first tried it at the brewery and then at Glusburn Institute Beer Festival last year.
I only live 200 yards above the Institute and let's just say it was an interesting "walk" home.

Haha, I always loved the Elland 1872 when it was on in the Barlick Tap, so I was sold as soon as you mentioned that the VIP bore more than a resemblance to that..
