Switzerland Women

Got beat 7-1 off Luzern’s under 15s boys team (So 14 year old kids)

Any half decent mens Sunday league team would destroy the best womens team in the world, i think thats pretty common knowledge.

So how is this debate about EQUAL pay even a thing ??? If they was as good fair enough but ‘professional footballers’ getting beat (hammered) by 14 year old kids is laughable and puts the argument about pay to bed.

How many women are expecting or asking for equal pay? How many are unaware of the huge differences between male and female sport? I don’t know any.

I think the Grand Slams in Tennis are the only ones where the prize money is equal, and are actually better paid (three sets compared to five)

Alesha Lehmann is one of the worst for asking for equal pay and she plays for Switzerland.
If women get paid equal then so should players at Padiham

if WSL was earning the TV companies the same money as the EPL the women would be paid accordingly, I guess.

Why have you done that though? So far, on this particular thread, there's absolutely no need.

I reckon the score would've been more but the 15 year old lads spent a lot of time staring at their arses.

Don't see the need to constantly compare the womens game to the mens. Its basically a different sport.

I'm sure you can think of a profession where women are miles better at it than men for some reason or other but you'd throw a massive wobbly if men were discriminated against and paid less.

It 100% is totally different to the men’s game, it needs to stand alone. It’s the media’s insistence on pretending it’s the same thing that causes much of the turn off for most people.

I understand that female actors in the blue movie industry earn substantially more than their male counterparts.
Then again, that may in part perhaps be comparable to the 3 set/5 set arguement in tennis, insofar as the ladies are likely able to perform more often in day than the men

It's all about competitive sport. There should be no pay comparisons as the men don't play against the women.
There is no pay equality in the men's game. Footballers and their agents argue for their individual wages and bonuses etc.
Tennis is quite unique in the way that prizemoney has developed, but those paying wages should be firmer in only paying what they can afford in wages in competitive sport generally.
Golf seems to have managed their prize money well, coupled with covering expenses, but as in most sports, profit is only made at the top level.
Below that, it is more like an expensive hobby.

Not unlike few yrs ago the all conquering US women’s team were beat 5-2 by an u15 Dallas ( I think ) academy team .
It’s a bit harsh to compare the 2 games , though it’s the media that are ramming the women’s game “ being equal “ down our throats .Unfortunately their core product is just very poor as a spectacle , it’s not their fault , it’s just what it is .

What a weird position for OP to take.

Junior male sprinters run faster than adult women sprinters as well.
Junior male swimmers swim faster than adult women swimmers too.

I imagine junior male basketball, rugby, hockey, tennis, cricket teams also are capable of beating the best women's teams on top of that.

Let's just bin off all the women's sports at the Olympics too.

On the pay discussion, I don't think it's a case of ability. It's about how much money the women's game generates compared to the men's game.

It's not men's problem to solve on that front. If more women watched women's football, as many men as watch men's football, then equal pay could be justified.

It is all about the commercial value of the product. If viewing figures go up then they should be remunerated. It is the reason Prem players get paid more than someone of equal skill in just about any other league. (Excl Saudi) If women watched women’s football to the same extent men watched men’s football there would be people falling over themselves to pay more to capture the tv rights which in turn would flow down to the players.

Every UFC/Boxing Man in a weight Class would Beat Most or all UFC/Boxing Women but both over time of building the female side sell out arenas and PPV's sold

Both Thriving and people want to watch .... very little ... 'the women can't beat the men' chat...

Makes me laugh every-time I see this point made about 'better' it's a complete straw-man argument.

It's about entertainment and competitiveness and allowing a sport to grow.

Exactly. It all comes down to viewing figures. Those for women continue to rise. And as they do so should the pay. It isn’t about who could beat who but rather about who wants to watch.

I always find it weird when a Burnley fan says they don't want to watch women's football because they only want to watch the highest standard of football. They must have had some lengthy spells of not watching Burnley.

The moment owd big chin* was successful in getting the wage cap removed, there's never been equal pay in professional football. Pay is negotiated on an individual basis.
The commercial value of the offering determines how much is willing to be made available to retain the service of those attracting the income, be it TV, sponsorship, reward or any form of income.
As for women wanting the same as men, haven't they always? I blame Emily Pankhurst and the suffering gets! :D

In the world of modelling women are traditionally paid more and are better than men.
