The details of Cristiano Ronaldo’s new contract are insane:

£178m-a-year
£3.4m-a-week
15% ownership of Al-Nassr (worth around £33m).
£24.5m signing bonus - increasing to £38m if he activates the second year of his contract.
£80,000 bonus per goal (to increase by 20% in second year).
40,000 bonus per assist (increases by 20% in second year).
8m bonus if Al-Nassr win the Saudi Pro League title.
£4m bonus if he wins the Saudi Pro League Golden Boot.
£6.5m bonus if Al-Nassr qualify for the Asian Champions League and win it.
£4m worth of private jet expenses, covered by Al-Nassr.
£60m worth of sponsorship deals promised by Al-Nassr with new Saudi companies and companies in the Asian Market.

Makes sense I guess for club with approx 10k attendances………..accepting the old boy will bring a few more in…..

Agree about the disgusting levels of money. But let's not pretend its the working man's game; especially in Saudi, where football is the antithesis of that idea.

Whoever negotiates his contracts is earning his keep.

If his agent earned 0.02% of his wage, he'd still earn more then the average UK salary

Good luck to him, maximising his income from an industry awash with money. All the work he puts in to increasing his longevity in football, making the most of the talent he has and hardworking, all the attributes we should be encouraging in our youngsters.

Think people had a pop at Don Readies for negotiating with UAE when he was still England Manager.

It’s the extra’s I can’t get my head around. 4 drivers, 16 house staff, 4 personal trainers, 5 gardeners, 4 chefs, 2 pilots on standby 24hrs a day. When they were reading the extra people employed by the club to look after him, it was totally mind boggling

I genuinely would not want double that if it meant it came with his fame. Imagine not being able ti live a normal life.

You mean the ordinary life that has you worrying about how you will pay for getting that slipping clutch replaced, wondering how you are going to replace those shoes your child is growing out of, etc.?

I would not want the level of fame and fortune he has, for all the riches you could give me. Yes.

We also have the crazy situation with Marcus Rashford where his wages are reportedly now so high that only a few clubs in the world can afford to sign him. He has the option of either lowering his wage demands so that he can sign for another club and play, or stay at United until his current contract expires in 2028. A loan deal is more likely I suppose now Villa did not take up the option.
