Jimmy Anderson book

Just read this, outstanding cricketer but riddled with self doubt. Upset with enforced England retirement given to him in Manchester pub by Stokes, Key and Baz, truanting from St Teds, roughing up adult batsmen in Burnley nets, Lancs and England dressing rooms. Much technical stuff on fast bowling, the joy of wicket taking.
A quiet, modest man now happily married but possibly 2 different guys, Jimmy the bowler and James the man.
Well worth reading by the cricket supporters on this board.

Does it discuss his partnership with Stuart Broad?

Yes he obviously likes Broad particularly his blue eyes!
I jest not.

Ridiculous decision to make him retire, wasn’t the excuse the up and coming Ashes ?

I look forward to reading it. Does he mention Justin Langer's leaked dossier from the 2009 Ashes? I have long had a theory that it ultimately had a positive effect on Anderson. What Langer wrote was broadly true at the time, Jimmy took it to heart, fixed it, and never looked back.

No nothing on Langer’s dossier, what did it say about Jimmy?

Very good read! There is clearly a James the family man and Jimmy the combative fast bowler!! My mate was made up that he appeared between Morne Morkel and Robert Mugabe in the index

He called him a pussy, and said his body language was detrimental to the team.

I’m reading his first book at the moment and he does mention the dossier in that. Apparently Langer said “Anderson is hugely improved but can be a bit of a pussy if worn down” !
